Link for 7443 socket: 7440 7443 wy21w led bulb tail turn signal parking brake backup lights

Scroll to the bottom for the socket.

Also, here's a post from another thread that gives a step-by-step on modifying and installing a dual filament bulb.

Link: Rear Fog Light-Help!!!

I followed that post and it works just as advertised. Actually, I got an extra socket I modified if you're interested. Pics and info are in the post linked below. PM me if you're interested.

In the process of removing stuff now and this little white clip appeared somehow. Thinking it goes inside the molding near the trunk latch? If so which way does it go back in?

That white clip belongs inside the rubber tailgate center area, the part that wraps around the tailgate opening. Its located in the middle area between the rear lights.

Could someone please post a pic of how that small plastic retainer is supposed to fit inside the rubber moulding? I can't seem to make any sense of it. I know it's probably useless, but it came out and I didn't loose it, so it needs to go back home!

Can't you just tap into the license plate lights?

So does the light turn on when the headlights turn on? If it does, does it go brighter when brakes are applied like the break lights?

No its just one brightness usually as bright as the break lights, you can wire it as you want but if you want it to turn with your headlights and go brighter when brakes you will need to modify it ...follow this Rear Foglight - Running light AND brake light

I wired mine to be on when the lights are on, it is bright!
My connection goes to the license plate light, used the Z1 extension, very easy this way

I'd normally break loctite with a wrench / hammer combo, but I couldn't get a hammer in there. A quick turn should accomplish the same thing. The key is, you have to do this first, not after you've jacked with them and spun the head.
I personally haven't done this mod, but did a little research. Some have had to cut the nuts off with a Dremel tool as well.

Lucky for me I didn't have any issues getting the nuts off, I can see how it can be a challenge if they spin. You can dremel or use heat to get them off.
There's a picture here in the forum of the notch to drill with the Dremel. If I can find it I'll send it you.
