Arrow Track only wheels/tires set up

Hi everyone I am looking for a wheel and tire set up to run at the track only. I am looking for the lightest possible 18” or 19” wheel set up I can get as long as the wheels look tasteful. Do you have any ideas or opinions on a 18” or 19” wheel/tire set up to go with? I really don’t want to spend a small fortune on wheels and tires that will only be used at the track. I already searched and searched and did not find the answer I am looking for don’t say search. I’m throwing the idea around on going with the Enkei RPF1 wheels 18X9.5 +38 in front and 18X10.5 +15 in rear. Not sure what tires sizes to consider that will work? Vehicle is a 2017 370Z that has not been lowered and has sport brakes.

Generally forged mono block wheels will perform the best, they are strong and light. Stick with major brands who have a reputation they want to keep clean so won't skimp on quality. Enkei are the best affordable ones imo, Volk are in the middle, and HRE are probably the best.

Man, thats the first time I've ever seen volk referred to as middle of the pack

But to answer the question: the most popular setup for the Zs is 18x10.5 +15 square RPF1s with 275 or 285s all the way around

If you want to be a baller. Forgeline will make the rims to any spec you want. They are top shelf.

Sorry didn't mean it that way, Volks and all major name brands are going to be very good. Was just from a cost perspective top of the line HREs start at 2,800, I should have made that clearer.

As much as I would like to brake the bank and get custom Forgeline or HRE wheels it would not be very peractical since these wheels would be used for 100% track and drag use and there are some people that have actually damaged there wheels at the track and had to get them repaired and refinished or replaced. The track can be a rough environment sometimes. I may consider the RPF1 wheels in 18x10.5. Do these wheels clear the Nissan sport brake calipers for sure? Is +15 the correct offset? I don’t mind the squared look. In your opinion will 275’s or 285’s look overall too wide or narrow or normal looking?

So are you wanting a wheel setup for drag racing or trackday driving? For drag, there are the Toyo TQ, Nitto NT05R and NT555R, etc. However, for trackdays you'd probably want a Toyo R888/R888R, Nitto NT01, Hankook RS3/4, Nexen SUR, etc. Mickey Thompson also has compounds for either use, as do other manufacturers.

For wheels (same as tires), it comes down to how much you want to spend. Volk TE/CE/ZE series are all extremely light, especially in 18-inch. Same with Enkei RPF/RS series, Advan has multiple light wheels, etc. However, bang for the buck, you can have a set of 4x Enkei for trackdays (with an extra rear pair for drag racing) for less than what most dealers are asking for a set of Advans/Volks.

Here is my car on a 18x10.5 +15 square with 275/40/18 tires. I think it looks perfect all the way around. The rpf1's will fit just fine. I'm also running -3.3/-1.8 negative camber front and rear respectively. 285/35s will fit as well. I'm lowered roughly and inch and a half or so from factory.

Okay, I will play too:

The first is with Enkie NTO3 18x10.5 +30 with Toyo R888 295 square. I run them with 15 mm spacers in the rear. I'm lowered about the same as Kenny and my specs alignment are almost the same as his.

Next are Volk Racing TE37SL 18x11 + 18 wraped in Nitto NT01 315. The rest is as stated above.

HotRodZ,

Which tire did you like like the best,

Toyo R888 or Nitto NT01?

I see you had a width difference, which may make the answer difficult.

The NT01 are noticeably better. That being said the R888 are not horrible at all. They are being replaced by R888R and it is supposed to be better but still not quite as good as the NT01. The R888R is cheaper as well.
