Last part is almost done. One more procedure to run on it, than all the machining is over with! Probably tomorrow.

AND they are done. This stuff will get out for anodizing for the end of the week and most likely be gone all of next week. When it gets back, they are ready to start shipping. I will post a pic or two of the lot up on the facebook before the end of the week.

I took mine to CIN Motorsports of Charlotte, NC. After reading about the PIA for others, just didn't want to invest a big chunk of a weekend vs spending time with family etc. Plus, knew they'd do it right!

I did it myself, and helped DR_ with his. Nothing in the install is impossible for a normally-equipped home garage setup; it can be done. However, it's at least a solid very long day of work at my pace, and your hands will get cut up a bit, and those cuts will get gas in them, and there will be several points of frustration and consternation along the way, and vigorous swearing at inanimate objects. This is one of those jobs where it's definitely not unreasonable to toss out your pride and let a professional do it.

Also, if you do it yourself, this was the most important non-obvious trick, during the "hard" part:

Get a roll of string, and cut some several-foot-long sections from it. Tie a nut to one end of each string (for weight, makes it easier to not lose the strings), and then tie the other end to the ends of the hoses and tape over the tied string with Gorilla Tape or something. Then you can drop the hoses into the tank out of the way, push the unit through, and then fetch the hoses again with the strings.

I'd like to do myself but my garage is I'll equipped... All I have is a metric tool set, ramps, and some hex keys.

I did mine myself.

Some tips on doing the install.
1. Give yourself some time to do this install. It's not hard to do.
2. Remove the seats. Make it SO MUCH EASIER to move around.
3. Make sure the gas tank is empty. If there is some gas in there when you park the Z for the install. When you remove the stock pump. You can pump out the rest of the gas into a gas can. I used a hand pump.
4. Get a small camera. Take some pictures of inside the gas tank. This will give you an idea of what the inside of the tank looks like and what you are dealing with.
5. Like wstar said. Use stings tied and taped to the end of the hoses.
6. MAKE SURE YOU MARK THE END OF THE HOSES REALLY GOOD! With something that won't wipe off! The last thing you want to do is to mix up the hoses.
7. The hard part of the install is getting the stock fuel pump back in the tank and hooking up the hoses in the right locations.

I am probably going to try a new hose/fitting arrangement for this batch. If I can make that part not very hard, then all of a sudden I dont think the install is really difficult. Its just this one step that is really a mess, and until you get the slack position just right, it feels like the stock fuel sending unit is going to bust in half.

There were 18 deposits taken. I produced 24 units. One of the customers twisted my arms into taking my personal unit from the last batch, so he is done. So that leaves 17 spoken for for customers. One will be mine. That leaves 6 extras.

Of these six, I need to hold on to 4 for a while. That means I probably have 2 that I can let go of!
