Lol, your story reminds me of the first time I went to this track. There was some kid with a Stang GT pulled up in the staging lane and talked with another Stang guy about my Z like I couldn't hear him. They were laughing at my "slow @ss jap shît" and how he was gonna burn me.
I smoked his *** 6-7 times that night. He wasn't happy. Zdayz 2014!! |

if you are dead set on better times then lose the camber. i've thought of this many times but i DD my Z so it would hurt the overall drive of the car since it's set up for handling and it's too fun to throw into turns to change it. the Z is camber heavy in the rear so that mean less tire is contacting the track for traction on a drag strip launch. factor in the squat on the launch and you lose even more of the contact patch. |

My favorite was a while back when I was running 'stock' in the dead of FL summer. Had not made a pass yet and a younger guy in a Cobalt SS walks up to me. guy: "hey you wanna run my car?" me: "sure, what you got?" guy: "that turbo cobalt... everything chevy makes is a POS and this is the only one that's any good" me: "cool. so tell, me why did you pick me to run?" guy: "oh, I usually run about the same times as 350Z's" me: "so what kinda times do you run?" guy: "you don't want to wait and see???" (cocky grin) We lined up and and I ran a decent time... 13.6 @ 105?. He ran a 14.7 @ 107 mph. me: what happened to you on that run? guy: Let's run again, I'll turn up the boost. I think I ran the same time again, he gained maybe a 0.1 et / 1mph. Side note: The rules at PBIR are: 13.999 and faster requires a helmet. I knew he was full of sh*t when he pulled up to line WITHOUT a helmet! Quote:

This is very true. Easier for you to be consistent and it seems the autos run a tad quicker

Please update the list. Does this place me 3rd on the list in speed? I have a slip for the 3rd highest stock mph (106.38 mph) & it beat Motor Trend's 105. |
This list isn't being updated. I ran the same times as you did and posted about a year ago and it was updated then. Good runs tho!
|
I apologize for not immediately updating the list for each slip, I don't log on everyday like I used to. If you made a post a year ago and it didn't get updated, it probably got buried by newer posts. It works out better if you just shoot me a PM instead of posting.

Technically I should be in the list for stock with street tires also :p Made a 13.6 pass
Or atleast in modified. All I have is midpipe and axleback |
