Sweet! I may try to lower it, hopefully I am successful! Edit: sorry, I found it. My tires were the stock Bridgestone Potenzas. 275/30/19 I believe. |
I got bummed out Friday night at the drag strip. I ran a 13.35 on my third pass as the cool weather kicked in then got booted for not wearing a helmet. Dem bastids!!

Up here in the NE you have to wear a helmet no matter how 'slow' your car is. That, and it needs to be SNELL 2005 rating or newer.
Metal tire valve caps for all cars 13.00 and quicker. Roll bars in convertibles 13.00 or quicker (why I'd never consider a vert). Roll cage 11.00 and quicker, and a parachute 10.00 and quicker. These are NHRA requirements. Some 'test and tune' days ***ahem Atco ahem*** they let it slide. ;) Coop |
Up here in Canada, you would not even get to the staging lane with out a helmet.
And it has to be Snell rated 2005 minimum. You would not get by Teck inspection. " how much is your head worth " They told me if I go faster than 11.49 I will need a cage. Failure to comply with any of these and after your run " you are escorted out of the track ASAP." They do not fool around with safety at Toronto Motor Sports Park > Z |

Another awesome run with my 100% stock 370.
2011 51300 miles Base Non sport Auto Michelin a/s3 all season 65 degrees Florida 60' 1.939 1/4 mile 12.915 Mph 106.93 |
^^^ Nice work! Quickest all stock/street tire 370Z in the Universe. :bowrofl:
Not surprisingly it's from an auto: predictable, controlled, quick shifting. Coop |

Some of the guys here in Florida said that their car ran slower with thousands dollars of bolt ons and exhaust. Guess the manufacturer know a little more than the average Z enthusiast |

ssmoked: Did you let the computer shift for you, or did you tag it on your own? Curious to know what works best.

It took me about 4 visits (~25 runs) to the drag strip to achieve that time. Here is what I did:
1. Real burnout with brake fuse pulled 2. Slightly brake torque 500rpm above idle 3. Manual up shift 200 rpm before redline Not hard to do, but you need perfect traction at the launch |

my best ET I had a 1.950 60' and trapped 111mph Quote:
|
Rule of thumb is every 0.1 shaved from your 60' will result in a 0.2 faster ET.

Saturday is the day!
Update,
We will be at the drag strip this Saturday March 14th, to put our 7AT upgrades to the test. Current 7AT upgrades include: Excedy Clutch Packs / FI Billet aluminum Flex Plate. In addition, we are on the quest to run 10's in the 1/4 mile. Stay tuned... -Tony |
Sweet! Stoxk motor?
