So should we start guessing times while we wait for the video?
We know they broke the old record of 11.1xx.

So into the 10s I say!

I would agree but hoping to see maybe a 10.6 or 10.7, not sure what they dialed the tune to but with that 7AT built along with other upgrades they would really romp on that launch without worrying about much snapping I would think.

i agree! i would love to see mid-10s and have the FI TT 7AT reign supreme lol

i'm thinking that the power level plus the quickness of the 7AT an axle upgrade could be the way to go. ensure you can just floor it and cut a nasty 60' time.

Yeah, if this was just TT plus built tranny I would say high 10s, but hoping for more mid potentially with the axle upgrades which gives them some breathing room on the launch.

considering that this is the first real test of the FI AT upgrades i feel they should have or did launch as hard as possible to see what it can take.

Wrong!

F.I. Inc. 03-16-2015 08:43 PM

Update,

Saturday was an eventful day to say the least! A success considering the DA (Density Altitude), 100* weather, track conditions and lack of cooperation from the Z in the early going. In the end, we gathered a lot of solid data and a few world records along the way.

As of tomorrow, we are removing the 7AT and improving on our modifications. The Excedy clutches are a major improvement over stock but we are not quite there! More clutches will do the trick. This turnaround should be relatively short and we plan to be back at the track in no time.

As for the rest of the car: chassis, rear end, engine, axles, turbo system, diff bushings, exhaust system, and flex plate...they all rose to the occasion and performed flawlessly.

In closing, the transmission with the current upgrades would perform great on the street but that's not good enough for us! Perfect or nothing less.

For now here is video of Saturdays testing for your viewing pleasure:

To all that participated, thank you for your commitment and support throughout. You all made it possible!

Very nice! Congrats! Imagine if it was in the 40s

Did you do any weight reduction?

SharpByCoop 03-16-2015 09:53 PM

Bravo! :tiphat:

I was disappointed in all the hype if it was only the 11.09" pass, but you built the viewing to a crescendo.

10.91 @ 130 is solid and deserves props. I'm envious of that time card. (I tried!)

Good for you, good for your client, good for your future customers.

You know there is more in there. I'll stay posted.

An honorable bow. :)

Totally stock 2015 Sport Tech 7AT. Everything stock including the stock tires and wheels. Lots of wheelspin in first and second so I should knock more off this when I learn to launch it. I have only had 5 passes with this car. The rest were in the 13.5 range. My car number is L738

Pull the brake fuse and do a burnout. I can guarantee you will be in the 13-13.2 area

Thanks, that's what I used to do with my Z33. I just didn't have time this time out. It is not as easy to get to as the other Z.

how do you up-load pictures...i haven't learned that yet?

Tadpole 04-07-2015 10:07 AM

Great times guys! My best was a 13.35 @105 with no fuse pulled and on stock street tires.
San antonio drag strip has been closed so I haven't had the chance to go in a while.

TheBoomSpoon 04-07-2015 10:23 AM

I dont see the point in pulling the fuse and doing a burnout? Just me i guess

and why is that?

TheBoomSpoon 04-07-2015 04:38 PM

Burnout on street tires. I could see if you run DR.

ssmoked 04-07-2015 05:28 PM

But from my 1/4 mile times, the difference between doing a burnout (12.915 @ 106.93 mph 1.939 60ft) and not performing one (13.3 sec; 2.XX 60ft) is quite a difference. The runs were done on the same night with my stock Z.

Could you explain the reasoning?

TheBoomSpoon 04-07-2015 05:43 PM

Good for you. My 1.920 with street tires, no burnout ouside temp 67. I doubt im pulling 1.7s by pulling brake fuse and doing burnout. All im saying is i really doubt this is neccessary on street tires but if you like doing the burnout, go for it.

Huge dependency on track conditions here. Not all tracks have the same traction.

+1

The track down here is pretty sticky, managed mid 1.8x 60ft times if I tried hard enough. Could only manage 1.9x without a burnout.

I pulled the brake fuse and still could not do a burnout. maybe they changed something in these 2015's. It worked in my 350Z.

Wassup guys. I've been lurking for a while and just bought a 370 this weekend. I'll be going after the fastest all motor record this year. My 350z has the record for the fastest all motor auto DE and I've been racing for years. Hopefully I do it or at least come close. I'll have some stock times this weekend.

As promised here are my stock times. I wish it wasn't 90 degrees out but oh well. I should get much better times once it cools down outside.
