Arsenal (aside from Szczesny's blunder) looked very good on Saturday. 6-1 win (two OG's though).

Southampton didn't look like going forward and scoring like they did vs. City and Utd.

phelan 09-17-2012 02:58 PM

It gets worse when you realize that SZCZ got hurt doing that. His ankle's definitely giving him problems, his kicks were wobbling all over the place. He's been known to be a bad distributor, but not THAT bad.

Mannone in for the match against Montpelier. Should be a nice welcome home present for Giroud, would love to see him on the score sheet. Walcott really should have passed that late chance to him lol

cow 09-17-2012 03:18 PM

If Walcott had any foot control, he could have slid in Giroud before both defenders converged on him. He's so fkn one dimensional.

cow 09-17-2012 03:26 PM

I've heard Neuer mention he thinks he's good enough as a field player to play third division football somewhere. Perhaps he's right.

Phelan, what happened with the Newcastle keeper where he talked the referee out of a card for Anichibe?

Haboob 09-18-2012 02:38 PM

Looked to be a pretty soft PK given too.

Glad we fired back with two quick goals! Let's hope for a few more (ahem, Giroud) in the second half.

phelan 09-18-2012 02:52 PM

Diaby ffs stop faffing about and clear

bigsix 09-19-2012 06:07 PM

phelan 09-21-2012 04:52 PM

super excited for this weekend against man shitty!

cow 09-21-2012 05:43 PM

I'm going to the Saints (NO) game this weekend, so I'll miss the Arsenal match live. I'm vacillating whether to record & try to stay in the dark or to have a friend text updates to me.

phelan 09-23-2012 03:52 PM

he knows where to stand...he knows where to staaaaaannnnd....per mertesacker he knows where to stand!!!

bigsix 09-23-2012 05:21 PM

Great score today; but, we should have won today w/ Gervinho's chances . . .

Red370 09-23-2012 07:11 PM

we deserved more than a point for sure, but I was very pleased with the way we took the game to em today. Per was pretty huge today, aside from being turned inside out by Aguero on one early break, he was pretty solid in the tackle and well positioned today, very pleased with his performance.

Kos was his usual badass self, great positioning and an excellent goal that was well earned.

WTF was up with Gervi today? dude created a perfect chance to score in the 85th, set himself for a wide open shot and sent it to mars, a simple side footed curler either side would have sent us home with all 3. And WTF was up with that 10 yard touch after he was sent through perfectly by Rambo? I know high school kids with softer touches.

I'll take a draw, but we need 3 against Chelski next week.

phelan 09-23-2012 08:28 PM

yeah I was amazed at that touch. commentators weren't really exaggerating that may be the worst touch ever in the premier league. in my weekly games even I don't chuck it ten yards in front of me and I'm a defender!

Haboob 09-23-2012 09:38 PM

Kos almost gifted them a goal right after he scored his though. :eekdance:

Good result. Thought we were outplayed at the beginning of the second half, but the real Gervinho is back again. I figured it wouldn't last. :shakes head:

I have it-- I didn't want to know the score, but to watch the match & be surprised.

Good result, if unlucky not to win. I'll definitely take a point there, though.

look at mertesacker spin LOL

Haboob 09-26-2012 03:37 PM

Giroud finally scored!

Then missed a PK.

But we've won vs. Coventry City 6-1.

Giroud 39'
Ox 57'
MoneyRussian 63'
Walcott 74', 90'
Miquel 80'

phelan 09-26-2012 11:33 PM

We're not looking good this first half.

Luckily Torres flubbed his 1v1 vs Mannone.

Kos had some poor marking on Torres for their first goal too, should we have started Per instead?

Oh, and one other fact ESPN gave: In 15 matches with Atkinson as referee, Chelski have never lost.

phelan 09-29-2012 05:34 PM

Per should have started.

blue660r01 09-30-2012 02:00 PM

Two things.

1) Bayern are rolling through everyone so far. Possible CL final this year? We shall see.

2) Dempsey ftw.

I nearly threw up when I saw Puyol's arm today. I was like, "Ow that looked like a painful falOH SHIT HIS ARM SHOULDN'T BE BENT THAT WAY!"

I feel so bad for the guy-- he fractured his cheekbone & was out, then came back & got a knee injury. Today's match was his first back & this happens. I wonder whether it's worth carrying on, considering he can't seem to stay healthy.

In other news, I'm quite annoyed FSC replays the same matches, rather than showing there as I really wanted to see Juve vs Shaktar.

phelan 10-02-2012 10:00 PM

I heard about it. I don't even want to look for it. Ew.

Watching RvP score for Man Utd to pull their fat out of the fire is maddening.

cow 10-02-2012 10:41 PM

Don't see the Puyol thing. It's up there with Djibril Cisse's leg break as one of the worst things I've ever seen.

& +1 on RVP being maddening. It's so frustrating.

Not sure I can watch it, but it can't be much worse than Eduardo's ankle, Ramsey's leg, or another leg break I saw in a German match (I think?).

Did he just fall on it wrong?

Oh yeah, and +2129238 on the RvP thing. He's bound to get injured and out for 3-4mos. soon! lol... I shouldn't wish ill-will on anyone, but damn it!
