Does anyone else spot the very very long black skid marks behind the GTR coming from the center median? So the Lambo was the one that crossed it because of loss of control right? The Murci is AWD IIRC and with TC off it seems very feasible a car of that power should have no problem breaking the wheels loose. But those are some long long skids, had to be doing pretty good. And the Road also looks straight, not really curved.

They even stated there was debris scattered almost 1000' away. That is a serious impact man.

Kinda reminds me of the vid of the 350z. Broke the tires loose which caused it to bring the rear end out at HWY speeds. But a Murci I am sure can roll the tires over at a much higher speed.

Uh yeah debris flew 1000 feet. It was a "slow speed" crash. ...Not

To lose control of AWD car with stability control you have to be moving very fast. Looks like car jumped and planted after intial contact. Probably snapped their backs.

While sad I suspect it was classic example of someone driving far beyond their capability on the street.

Not buying that, a Lambo should be able to make any normal major highway turn at 100 or so mph. Maybe she got it hot and lifted which we all know is the worst thing to do, then her steering went light, she over compensated, caught traction again and shot across the median. Be it a car or bike, it does what you tell it to do. Guess we will not know, but it's sad they died.

Story doesn't add up, would like to know more information.

So contrary to all the statement the passenger of the GTR states the lambo was indeed traveling fast.
http://www.cfnews13.com/content/news...itical_af.html

A passenger in the Nissan, Tan P. Phan, 22, of Pinellas Park, was treated at the hospital and released.

"Fast. That's all I can say because once I saw the Lamborghini in a flash we were in a crash," he said.

He said about a half dozen sports car fans were driving on the road when the accident happened.

University Boulevard is a four-lane divided roadway that was completed last year and will provide access to Florida Polytechnic.

Phan said the group had gone to the road after getting together for a pre-Super Bowl party.

"No, we weren't racing. We were just cruising. And this car came from the opposite side,” Phan said. “Don't know what they were doing or what happened. All I know was I saw the Lamborghini went over the middle median. In the blink of an eye we got into an accident."

The cars were doing runs up and down the street, but were not racing each other. Car was doing around 150...driver lifted and the rear end got loose. She lost control, crossed the median, and hit the GTR. The driver was killed from blunt force trauma. The passenger (owner) was thrown out of the car and killed. Still a sad story. There was a memorial for them at Cars & Coffee on Saturday.

150MPH on public roads???
My sympathy just went to about 0

I'm sorry Ryan that you know them, but 150 is meant for a dragstrip

After reading through the story and this thread I figured there was more to the story. Its still sad and I for one still have sympathy because each and everyone of us has done something stupid in the past and got away with it. RIP peace and to the folks in the GTR my heart really goes out to them. Having to deal with this because of a stupid mistake is sad. There is no good to a story like this unless people reading it and watching it learn from it. Take it to the track to open up your car.

It's in the works...it's been a long journey. The last 8 months, my car only ran for 2 weeks.
