Holy sh*t! The lambo driver drunk or something?! I guess the GTR is the safer car though, everyone in the lambo died. Very unfortunate.

Makes you wonder how the people in the lambo died, I mean the shell of the cab is relatively intact? I wonder how fast they were going. Very sad nonetheless

:(:(

Does anybody know the names of the people that were killed? I really hope that's not Robert Himler and his 1000 hp Lambo...

*ok nvm, read the article.. RIP

24yr old
woman and man
lambo

obviously control substances or cell phone use was/were involved, and speeding most likely as well.
But to the GT-R driver that median looks pretty wide, and assuming the speed is anywhere around 60-80, the lambo must have been approaching from a shallow angle. Meaning it would have been at least 3-4 seconds before impact. How do you not see a lime green POS flying across the median at you for that long and at least swerve a little?

RIP to the Lambo drivers
and speedy recovery for the gentleman in the GTR

that lime green actually blends in with the grass pretty well, if you look at the pic of the lambo.

Sam (owner of the Lambo) was very active in our local car community and was very well liked. He would often bring multiple cars to the monthly Cars & Coffee meets and other big events, allowing his friends to drive the cars. He just picked up the Murci about a month ago, too :( RIP

According to friends of the deceased speed was not the issue. However, I want to see two cars look like that after an impact at the speed limit...

Apparently (according to the friend) It was a supercar caravan. The driver spun out (lost control) trying to cross the median and was hit by the Nissan. The nissan driver was apparently friends with the lambo driver.

But seriously, none of this adds up. That GTR must have been speeding pretty hard or vice versa. Cars do not look like that after impacting at 60mph...

Sucks regardless though. Hate to see people go out like that. Especially car enthusiasts.

That will make Jalopnik. Lambo's just don't all the sudden cross a median by their own devices....She was 24.

So do small mammalians that cause terror to bumpers at night yet most people can still avoid them by swerving, and do so almost instinctively. I'm having a hard time believing he didnt see it.

I was getting at that. Statistics don't lie. Young + female is not a good bet when considering "accident" rates.
Moral of the story is, don't let anyone drive your car EVER. Unless they are active enthusiast who will respect a vehicle regardless of make/model do not let them behind the wheel of your car, ESPECIALLY if that car is a supercar. You are asking for trouble

Exactly what I was thinking. This cannot be a "low-speed" crash.
