What's going to be the most coincidentally interesting is the corvettes benchmark for the C8 is this very car. Which is going to be awesome to compare the two... Eventually. Maybe that company will get a new vette? Or maybe Hertz will rent them in their specialty fleet when they release? Either way... I'd love to see if chevy met their goal!

Wow - that sounds like a blast!

I've driven an F-430 on track and loved it. You will to. The 458 is probably my favourite car of all time.

Be sure to ring it out - no pussy shifts at 5K.

Oh, and do remember that MR dynamics in a big-block, powerful car like that are a lot different from your FR Camaro. "SMOOTH inputs" are the words to live by. Rotating the car is a bit trickier when the motor is behind you. If the back end starts to come around, the only things that will save you are countersteer or adding throttle. Choose the appropriate one and it's magic. And corrections need to be followed by a well timed release (or you will discover the meaning of "snap oversteer" in the opposite direction). I don't know if you've ever driven this layout in anger before - it's incredibly rewarding when you get it just right.

Enjoy!

Thanks.... I did the 360 aways back. So I'm vaguely familiar. Have driven a Cayman and 911 a few times. My experiences have been MR has way more telepathy than FR so the dynamics are actually easier than FR. At least from my experience. I'm usually really good at getting my mind wired to the cars driving dynamics and applying the right inputs. It's what makes driving so amazing. Cars are like women. When you become one. Everything falls into place.

You realize that, taken out of context, this quote is scary on many levels.

Enjoy the moment. Driving a car like that is an experience very few of us will ever have. Doing it on a race track is even more special!

So I had a major blast at the Cresson tx track. It was a complex track with 2 steep hills. One down the other up. I got 7 laps in the Ferrari 458. I gotta say i didnt get s great track time at all. A few factors mostly excitement and distractions of paying attention to all the kool lightz gauges and really feeling the car for what it was rather than destroying it for my max potential track time. They said intermediate track drivers who come to that track for the first time get about 1.35 to 1.40 ... I did 1.38.
Though my track time was not great as we watched the video they were impressed with how smooth my transitions were in the hairpins. They said I made difficult turns look easy by comparison of other drivers. So I'm definitely going back and doing a multi car package.

They just bought an MB AMG GTR I want to drive. Plus a GT3 and I wanna do the Ferrari again.
I just gotta say. The dual clutch in a ferrari is phenomenal. I just cant get over the level of responsiveness out the DCT. And the sounds in a Ferrari are just insane. Steering is sublime with loads of feedback. The outward view is Camaro bad yet I've never heard one rich person complain. Go figure... lol. Maybe this is why they dont make sports cars for broke azz poor people? All the whining!! So visibility for me wasn't really an issue.

The italia was everything I dreamed it to be. All my expectations of a modern ferrari were exceeded. The only thing I can compare it to is another Ferrari though. They do have lambos but they said. The lambo ferrari and AMG GTR are all track comparable. The porsche gt3 was recommended if I was to feel a true contrast to the ferrari. Having already driven a 911 and Cayman he sparked my interest. He said the GT3 is very different. He said it's a true track car. May I mention the car they have is the RS.

So for christmas I think I'll do multiple cars. Going to a track when the index was 110 wasn't the ffunnest lol.

But if you live in north texas and haven't tried the Cresson track. It's pretty awesome. It's not the greatest for high speeds like some of the other tracks out here. But if you wanna get your cornering game up? This is it.

I think I'm gonna propose to my GF... She is just effin amazing!!

Sounds awesome.

GT3 RS is a nuclear scalpel on track. Not as flamboyant as the 458 by any means, but it makes up for it in terms of sinister competence on the racetrack. It’ll be faster than the Ferrari on this type of road course and depending on the rubber they have mounted, the amount of mechanical grip is astounding.

And... we’ll make a DCT convert of you yet.

Also, your gf sounds as amazing as some of those cars. From me, that’s a major compliment.

Nah my lady... lol. That GT3 Look soooo good. Porsche has too many useless models and trim levels. Then charge too much for the true car. I dont know if a GT3 RS looks worth the price when sitting in a stable of comparable cars. But if Porsche sold these closer to $140 to 160k. I can see shelling out the money.

Take it easy. I think he's just ribbing you about your post up-thread, Unknown_370.
"Cars are like women. When you become one. Everything falls into place. "

But yeah, toss up. Propose to the gf or the 458, but do it soon! :-)

May your life be full of fast cars and fantastic women. Or the other way around. Kidding.
