Yep. I'm that Jeep owner, however, only 130k so far. The 06 hemi 5.7 has been awesome. It just keeps on truckin!

I wanted to like my 2010 JGC Hemi/qd2, but...

That sucks! I had to replace my Commander's water pump also, but that was at 128k miles. So more of an expected replacement as those parts are only expected to last so long anyway.

Funny how cars go given I'd say my best experience with a car i've ever had was my Jaguar XJS, and worst was my Mazda 929 (there was not a single component I didn't replace on that car before 45k miles, Monumental POS! LOL!). You'd figure it would have been the other way around. Or at least the Jaguar would have been at the bottom of my list.

What's crazy is that every domestic I've owned, nearly, has had the water pump die at around 80K miles, while none of my JDM cars have ever had one die. My Infiniti did have the radiator die, though. And the transmission. And the motormounts. I'm sure my 370Z would have had stuff die if I'd kept it longer than 34K miles, too, considering the brakes had issues and the power steering pump would get super loud after I drove it hard and the transmission would always grind on the first shift of the day, especially if it was raining out (go figure...). Mainly, my Nissan products felt = to my Chrysler experience, so I have had no impetus to try them again and went with Mazda again, after my CX5 had the fuel pressure regulator go out at 106K miles (literally nothing else broke in the life of the vehicle except that, unless you count things like trim from a huge chunk of concrete that flew up, or the rear diff because I submerged it crossing a stream and didn't change the fluid like I should have---after another 2 months of driving (and no bearing whine!, it was the AWD clutch solenoid that went out! Fluid looked like a frappachino!).

I am hoping my CX5 GT Reserve lives just as storied a life, but got the 10y/150K mile bumper-bumper warranty on it just in case. Because it has a TON of tech in it, plus a turbo.

Yup. Everyone on the Mazda forum is making fun of me for paying $2400 for it, though. Kinda irritating, but also reassuring regarding how reliable these things are. The CX9 has had this transmission and engine since 2015 as a 2016YM, and I've yet to find a horror story or even one with a blown turbo via Google. Very reassuring. The tech in this thing is super impressive. Heated and cooled seats, HUD, oscillating headlights (LED), on and on and on. Suspension is amazing, too. Reminds me of my 370Z, but much better control in the corners, over irregular pavement, etc. If you're in the market for a CUV, this is the one to look at, IMO. I'm averaging 25-27mpg on my daily drive, even though it's rated 22/27. It feels like my LT1 Trans Am from the 90's. NO turbo lag. Loads of torque everywhere. Doesn't even shift out of OD unless I'm going up a crazy steep hill/mountain.

I love the new look of the CX5 & CX9... some of the best out there hands down. I'd totally look into it for my next SUV if it weren't for having to pull trailers (21' boat & motorcycle) once in a while. Towing capacity of the CX9 is only 3500. I think the boat is close to 5000 lbs.

I had a 2007 Mazdaspeed3 (essentially whats under your hood) and I had the turbo replaced due to a flaw in the first year design. Other than that, which was replaced under warranty without hassle for my mods (Mazda dealers are night and day from Nissan), that car was a total tank for 10 years of hard (hard.) daily driving.

Honestly if it wasn't for the Z existing, I wouldn't even look at Nissan. They have the worst dealership experiences and the build quality just isn't up to what Honda, Mazda, or Toyota are doing. It's like the Z is from a completely different company, and in a way, it kind of is.

I agree... the Z and GTR are solid rides. The rest of Nissan = no interest.

Pretty much. The new LEAF, though, looks like a Prius competitor, except t he Prius went AWD and has a legit track record of excellence in its class.
