Yes it was the Z28 that was referring too.

I looked at the Camaro SS before buying my Z but the inside of them wasn't too appealing to me.

What year?

I wonder how much the new 400hp z will be. I assume the 400hp q60 coupe will be somewhere in the mid 50s, so maybe mid 40s for the z?

jcasti07 04-10-2016 04:50 PM

I traded in my Z in September for a 5.0. I needed more space, and although it works for me, I miss the hell out of the Z. What has me excited is to see what Nissan has up their sleeve. I know and agree that its long overdue... but does anyone think maybe they're holding out til 2020 to release a 50th anniversary for the next gen? That would honestly be badass. Yes, the 3.7 N/A platform is showing its age, but the car is still a beast. If that's their route, why not just stop production until they're ready to release the Z35? I don't see what other knick knacks and facelifts they can give the 370 until that point. Anywho, I miss my Nismo, and this community just as much. Power isn't everything, y'all...

If Nissan goes that route. They would make a 2019 model that comes out mid-late 2018 to debut the car. Then do an anniversary version as a 2nd year marketing strategy. That makes the most sense.

2020 is too damn long...

yea I like the engine but the Q50 look just doesn't do much for me.

the Q60 has a bit better look maybe due to it being a coupe and feeling a little bit sleeker?

but........

at 49k I feel like I would drop the extra 5k and get the BMW M2 instead. little less power but looks so much better.

2013 and up....... Just didn't like how the dash looks in them. The Mustangs are the same way. Also when I was just out of school I had both so that could be the reason why I don't like them today after already owning them.

The 2016's are night and day to the 5th gen interiors.

Would you do a 2014 and up Corvette Z51 for a little over 50K? :hello:

Well I graduated a long time a go so. I'm not knocking them either but my age is probably showing when it comes to both these cars. Could also be that you see so many on the road that the appeal is less for me than for others. :tiphat:

yes and no.

yes, the vette is sexy and performance is awesome. I love the C7 and would drive one in a heartbeat.

but no. I struggle with owning a vette or Camaro. the vette I would need to go apply for an AARP card to buy and there's literally one every where I look now when out driving.

the new ZL1 Camaro is a monster yet there will be 15 Camaro's every 2 miles once they become more available. only have seen 3 new body Camaros so far on the road.

OH and edit: I wouldn't buy a 2014 vette. 2015 and up for the 8L90 tranny.

AARP card!!! :rofl2:

I'm being tempted with a 2015 Z51 with under 8K miles now. I love my Z and not really looking to get rid of her, but if they pay her off then I might take the deal.

BTW I'm not old enough to own a AARP card yet but not far from it either. This should explain why I am looking at this car now. :hello:

I just turned 29 soooooo I have trouble justifying it yet.

LOL.... you have a ways to go before you get to take advantage of the senor benefits. :rofl2:

The Vettes look damn good. But I can say that I'm not bored or dissatisfied why my Z. Personally I'm more on the side of keeping my Z at the moment which is a first when the dealer can dangle the bait in front of my and I don't jump right onto the hook.

If he can't do the price I want then I have zero problems jumping right back into my Z and happily driving away.

2 local Nissan dealerships have been trying to get my Z for 3 years now. I get actual handwritten letters and quotes from sales managers for my Z to move up and whatnot.

my issue with getting a vette is that to find the one I would want options/color wise is rare without ordering one. however I don't pay retail so like my Z it would take me a few months of searching to get the one I really want.

Dirk McGurck 04-11-2016 08:59 AM

I personally find the C6 bodies more attractive than the C7. I just don't know if I would want to own a Vette. I know they're powerful, I know they're fun, but I just don't see myself owning one.

I do the same thing. If I find everything that I want and the price is right then I explore it. I pay nothing that is at sticker price either.

C7 looks overdesigned, like a 12 year old drawing a picture of a Vette and he just keeps adding **** to it.

C6 looks smaller and lighter, and refined.

I get the same stuff from every dealer in the Tri State. :shakes head:

A guy I work with bought a C7 vette. He's 55 yrs old. All the new vette's that I see are driven by old farts. Think it's empty nesters that now have money to spend on themselves.

C6 was bleh.

it was a massive step up from the dreadful C4/C5

however the C7 is what a vette should be. they finally made it from real materials rather than a ton of plastic. hence why it's finally getting respect. prior to this it was just a big engine and plastic.....that's it lol it was really worth 20k for the engine the rest was just the left overs from the impalas and Malibu's.

i mean the avg age of vette owners is up there but i have friends mid-late 20s with a C7 too. my one friend totaled his mustang.........and then went bought a 2015 C7 and the day after he picked it up put a supercharger on it lol

oh I was referring to your friend being an incompetent driver :(

I take that back.

on another note, I think we will see something similar to the 370 in the near future. speculating that we will get a 2019 400z (looking like a toned down nismo with the W grill lines and such) and then 2020 for the 50th anniversary refresh bs.

i plan on keeping my Z as well. no real reason to sell it. it's worth nothing since 2013 price drop knocked 5k off it's value.

again, Nissan sticking it in our asses to make a fuckin awful bumper change which is a 350 bumper......:shakes head:

LOL, you don't see young guys in most sports cars with a price point of $100K... why, you don't have the money to buy toys like that and you should be spending money on your children if you have them. Save and invest your money so when you are older you can play with the big boys and enjoy the golden years.
