A few posts back I mentioned that I went to my local Nissan dealer (Miami), spoke to a sale guy in passing and he mentioned the next Z would be out in "2 years". At the time, I didn't take it very seriously.

I went back to the same dealership today to get an alignment and a few other things done. While I was waiting, I had a different sales guy approach me about trading my Z in for a newer one. As we were walking out to their lot to look at their used Zs, I just straight up asked him when the next new Z model was coming out and he said "2021" with no hesitation whatsoever.

That is now 2 different sales guys at the same dealership who have told me 2021 is the year for the next Z model. Make of it what you will.

It will be a refreshed. But it wont be a whole new z.
Meaning it will have the same skeletal structure. Assuming here.
It's pretty obvious they will use the q60 3.0tt engine.
Let's hope it's better than the current gen and plz let's hope they update the interior to keep up with the current trend.
Z's interior is inferior

Completely agree. Based on reporting, Nissan's last abysmal quarterly report, and the state of sports cars in general, I don't see them putting a ton of R&D into an entirely new platform.
That being said, it's just nice to have some type of validation that at least something is coming after a decade.

The new Z looks just like a 240z

If that's the new Z? Awesome!!! I love the original Z.

Yeah, I'm totally in if that's near to what the next gen Z resembles.

tvfreakazoid 11-29-2019 12:47 PM

Its interesting. As long they keel the car a wider and short as in height profile, the new Z would look great.
If they make it taller and thin like the original, that's a no go for me.

Crazy u said that cuz I was thinking kinda the same. On the original it's not really that bad cuz it's still a tiny car...
But with today's safety tech, it's easy to make that design look bloated and high...

But I trust nissan in terms of fluid designs. Despite my harsh criticisms of the Q60. Its still beautiful af. It just needs a better console, chassis and tranny

The original 240z, it fits for that era. But it wont fly imo or at least it wouldn't for me.
The wide, short profile gives it an exotic look. Hence why all the exotic cars has that look.

As long the wheelbase isnt too short. Hopefully it wont be short like the bmw supra.
Maybe they keep the same 100'' wheelbase like the current Z.

Although the 350 was a little longer.

And let's hope nissan isnt in the fake vents game like the bmw supra

Unless if u mean the bulb part? The headlights actually look exactly like the 240z. If Porsche has them now? They took an old design. And those headlight were copied off a 60's Ferrari Daytona... So I guess we have a whirlwind here?

In my dream, the designers' challenge has been to make a new, 21st Century-looking design based firmly on the existing 370z dimensions/underpinnings, with 240z echoes. My heart is fluttering already.

The underpinnings gotta go. The FM is dead. That's why the Q60 sucks. The newer saloon chassis's are way too rock solid. If nissan keeps the FM. They need to go with a whole new linking setup and a high grade tensile steel to compete. But new chassis designs are way more rugged than the FM. We NEED a new chassis.

It says he gave this speech standing next to a Z. Can’t imagine they’d kill a car this guy deems so significant to the company.

I wonder about ghosen scandal. I wonder if there is more to the story than they report.
Nissan has no choice. They need the alliance in Hope's to save money and share platforms to keel the cost down

And make good ******* sport cars and keep them updated.

And of course they need to improve their other cars too of course

Nissan should drop that french outfit, and go with FCA. That way, they can get some of that Alfa Romero DNA for their sports cars.

A bit off topic. Had to go get tail lights for my sons 4Runner. Dealer had 2 Supra’s on the floor. I had read they look better in person but I was not impressed. Way too much going on in my opinion. I walked out of the show room and an 86 was right outside. The Supra looks like an 86 prepped for SEMA. I hope the new Z is more classic looking.

Totally in agreement with you there. The GT86 has always looked like a lame plasticky, tinseltown replica of the 370 and the new Supra is just a continuation of that mistake, on steroids. Whereas the new BMW is definitely an improvement on the Z4.

I've never said I know somebody that's connected. I already said I was guessing that the concept would be released at Tokyo and again I happily admit that I was wrong on that one. I don't have a care in the world whether you give me any credence or not - I'm just saying what I can and whetting your appetites a bit. However - I do know it's coming and I also know more about it than you do - or than I can say.

I find your posts amusing. One day I will say more.

I find your posts amusing too. Like, what's he going to come up next? :rofl2:

Nissan is in a money crunch position. The next Z would be taking money from other projects. They want to do it. But have to spend the money on something else. It's damn if they do. Damn if they don't.

So just 100% BS speculation.

If a new Z ever drops you and a few others will be all over the forums saying "I told you so" when none of you know anything at all. :gtfo2: with the BS

UNKNOWN_370 12-13-2019 04:07 PM

Lol... stop bickering over something we cant confirm... yet!

Some jerk made this render...
It looks like a crackhead version of the gripZ coupe render. But cartoonish. I'll take the rims but eff everything else.
If its a mix between the 240 throwback render? And the gripZ coupe? Cool. If it's this retarded version? Nah...

There seems to be a trend with all the companies... Mustang is a crossover and other models are expected under the mustang name. Which is dumb.
The camaro and blazer are actually sharing identical relationships as a family...
Nissan has this Grip Z plus hopefully we have a coupe.

Maybe this is the only way they can justify building coupes without losing money? The Z is already on a truck chassis (FM platform) but with new modular tech. Maybe they can truly make the vehicles feel totally different? I dunno? But you guys get me right??

I am confused at what all the back and forth is about. One side calls bullchit on the other because they say the new Z is coming and what is out on the interweb is equally BS. So that camp gets to be right until their not and then the other camp gets to say you guys are bunch of dipshits for not believing the the hype!

So carry on with the trolling as I have had my fun jacking with you clowns!!! Well...I'll be lurking and waiting for opportunity that is!!!
