So does anyone know what kind of oil the Z35 is going to use? Asking for a friend. Just lurking around...
In other news, my friend put my old car up for sale. He has since replaced the INGS side blades and replaced the front bumper with the new NISMO version. Looks great... and engine still stock :) |

After years of waiting for an overdue redesign, I sold my Z and bought a new camaro ss 1le. I decided that Nissan hates its customers.
The camaro has gone through several refreshes, a redesign, and another refresh, while the z has basically stayed the same. I wish that Nissan would choose to stay relevant. |

The 1le is still very much a Driver’s car. The downsides are that it’s hard to navigate around curbs and parking lots because there’s no visibility. Always worried about scraping my wheels. But it has so much more power and it is delivered more evenly. The z only made power up high, but the camaro makes something like 300ft-lbs of tq at 2k rpms. I’ve had it on a track and it’s so composed. It really is at home on the track or winding roads. It’s an amazing car. |

Electric Z: Here's another dead horse that needs beating:
http://www.carscoops.com/2018/10/nis...y-electrified/ |
More useless Z rumor mill. Now saying both Z and GT-R will or may be ELECTRIC. It's just an abomination. Nissan is just writing themselves out of the enthusiast market. Turbo boost your GT-R. By purchasing a $3,000 battery pack??? Is this how it will be done.
Nissan you're lame. Seriously. This is not the Nissan of 2008. Shyt. It's not the Nissan of 2013. https://www.motor1.com/news/270207/n...0z-successors/ |

Nissan now saying. No Z35 for the 50th??? Who does that with a heritage car? Oh yeah. Nissan partner Mitsubishi. Watch Nissan come out with a rebadged eclipse crossover as a Z. |

JDM is dead. They consistently have to partner up with other car companies to split the cost of building a sports car and then they either, go the cheap uninspiring route or the overpriced I can't believe it's not butter route. |

Before and if the Z35 is released (big/huge IF), Nissan will push a Z34 with a VR30DTT. I know.....'cause I'm Zoltar. The business reason: SUVs and crossovers. The body style is relevant. Add on modern day tech found in their staple sedans and you have a cheap, updated, and appealing sports car. There is no business reason to introduce a new-bodied 2-door sports coupe. The numbers don't lie.

To me, that sounds like a significantly less expensive proposition than building a new platform and such. That way, Z purists get something new while Nissan can offer something more competitive in whichever segment Motor Trend wants to put the Z in. If it's even possible that it stays within the same price range the Z currently sits, it's a grand slam. I didn't think about this part, but it's possibly more expensive to allocate resources to VQ37 production... I think the Z is the last car using it. |
What other Nissan product rides on the Z platform now? I️ know it had shared with the prior gen Q50/60 but those platforms where updated right? Maybe it would be more cost effective to move the Z over to the updated platform than to keep the old one around for just one car.

Z35 Pricing Speculation
I have been looking to get into a 370z or 987.2 Cayman S but now it looks like the next gen z is coming. I want to wait to see pricing and styling before I commit to something. My fear is that the next gen z is going to be dramatically increased in price. My max budget would be 36k or so.
Where do you think the next gen z’s will be priced? I’ve read they may increase the price significantly to put it in a higher class. Could it be north of 40k or 50k like some suspect the RX9 and New Supra to be? I feel like beyond 35k they are alienating a lot of people who chose to buy 370z’s over luxury options. If it goes into that higher range, you have to consider buying BMW, Porsche, Lexus etc instead. I’d personally be priced out. I know this is speculative, but what do you guys think? |
