There are way to many ways to slice this, it totally depends on what the car is used for and what are you basing it on.

Cost
Driving Enjoyment
Seating
Engine Size
Performance Data
Sporty Feel
Straight Line Performance
Brand Prestige
Tow Rating (hehe)

When I was shopping I considered the Z, 5.0, STI, and BRZ. I would loved to have had a used C5 or porsche but didn't want to daily one and was afraid it might make me look kind of like a spoiled doctor-type.

It seems to me that the pony cars rival us more at least at the drag strip anyways. The Z is very competitive there even with the HP disadvantage.
