Whenever I'm getting tires changed, I have the SA walk around the car with me and inspect them to see that there are no scratches and then note it on

If they know you're looking for it, they will be careful. I've seen tire shops pretty much destroy rims and I've seen them come out perfect. So you know it can be done - just takes more time. crus likes this.
