If "unsafe" is written into law as "whatever an officer says", then this is a really bad idea.

"Looks stupid", "douche-bag car", "dumb", etc. This is subjective BS that makes for terrible laws.

So I didn't see anything in the article about the definition of what the law says is "unsafe".

...And I am not a fan of Hella-flush.
If i were to guess, since they are basing this on the vehicle being unsafe, they are talking about the tire issue not contacting the road. If that were the case, the smart thing to do would be put something into effect with percentages. Meaning, if more than 50% of your tire is not making contact with the road, you're screwed. That would make sense

pretty much everything that is "stance" is unsafe.

tons of negative camber which reduces the tires contact patch resulting in little to no traction = unsafe.

tires that are many sizes too small exposing the wheel and even sealing to the inside step of the wheels sometimes for desired looks. all resulting in a raised chance of popping the bead and having esentially a blow-out while driving = unsafe

super low hardened suspension (non-air ride) to where there is little to no give. this susepension then offers no give or abosrption of the bumps of normal driving which can result in bouncing and losing control of the vehicle = unsafe.

shall i continue? lol

That can be said about a lot of styles though. If the car is too low it poses a problem, too high: problem, etc.

That's not law everywhere. Well, maybe in the Nazi state of Canada it is. They should just consider it part of California. 'Tards.

Air suspension can tear causing an accident.

Screws can come loose, causing an accident.

Let's ban everything that anyone could like! Yeah!

Also, with my wheels having greater than OEM offsets, they're considered "stanced" (just not super duper stanced, just flush with the edges of the car) so... that's unsafe? Didn't feel unsafe flying around the mountain this weekend.

You're absolutely right.. And they are all UNSAFE lol. No matter how much we dont wanna admit it, just about every law thats made, theres a good reason for it. I see NO valid argument that can be said about having just the inner lip of your tire touching the road NOT be a bad idea on the road.

But i welcome someone to try

It's more fuel efficient, minimal friction with the road.

On that premise, tires can tear causing an accident too, so lets make them illegal! lol.

We arent talking about having a little camber because of offset wheels. Its tires that are sitting at an extreme angle not making contact with the road, is the safety issue.

Not a fan of the "hella flush" movement. I do like the look of wheels that are acutally flush, not cambered to hell. However, I'd be afraid that any lowered car with wide wheels/tires or modified suspension is now in jeopardy of getting a ticket.
