Hello Familia!!! :hello:

Welcome carlitos :tiphat:

Drove the Z to work today, got compliments on how shes always clean and how good she looks from a co worker :happydance:

Masterbeatty 11-17-2014 08:43 PM

I stared at mine in the carport for a few mins. The next time I drive her will be to transport my silky black Z to her new stable in mid December. I will finally have a heated garage and no more stray cats walking on top of my cars.

I'm going Ice Racing with mine this year!!

Ok, not really, but I sure will NOT be putting it away for winter. I say drive it too. :werd:

Drove to Ohio and back yesterday (woo 19 hour trip) to pick up my rebuilt engine. About the same prices as turbo-ing a 370, but should be a lot more fun once it's back in the car. The shop did TONS of work and it looks great. A few of the major things they did are listed below

Full block and head overhaul, Ground crankshaft, Rear crank seal conversion (and replace all seals in engine), Reconditioned rods, new bearings, balanced rotating assembly, cylinder head cleaned and pressure tested, new valve guides, new (lead-free) exhaust valve seats, ground valves, cylinders relined from 83mm to 87mm (1991cc to 2138cc), rebuilt distributor, rebuit oil pump, Ground Camshaft, New timing chain and tensioner, ARP head studs, new hi-torque starter, new 4 vane water pump and tons of other odds and ends.

Wish I could say I did the work myself, but I figured I'd leave these specialty engines up to the pros. Should be putting out a little bit more grunt than the stock 100bhp, which will be ample in a tiny wooden car.

Picked this spot since no one should be able to fit next to me except a smart car. Came out to a Scion TC wedged against my passenger side. There's a ding in my door now.

Karma, mofos, karma.....it will get them.

Pluck Karma, she take too long sometimes. You should've keyed a Z on the driver side door.

So I've noticed pretty much every pic on this site is either in someone's garage or in front of some McMansion type house with 3 stories and a 2 car driveway. So here's my winter setup sitting in my 1 bedroom aparment

Got a great deal from a member on here. Things are practically brand new. Sport Edition A7's with a set of Blizzak LM60's.

I've got a 1 bedroom apartment as well.
I've got the stock headers and cats in my living room, stock intakes in my laundry area, and stock side skirts in my bedroom.

Pintsize725 11-20-2014 11:52 AM

Took the Z out last night to meet up with ShoFamous and get some photos of his car. Carbon fiber is hard to photograph under crappy street lighting.

Fuzzzy 11-20-2014 02:01 PM

Ran some errands with my wife, one of which was stopping at a small business. A local cop, with the most aggressive ticket-writing department in the area, stopped in to check out some things with the owner and asked whose Z was parked outside. We ended up shooting the breeze for quite a while after he said he was torn between buying a new Z and a 'Vette.

He told me if I needed someone to blow the carbon out of my Z, that he was available. I sure hope if I get stopped for speeding that he's the guy behind the blue lights :driving:

On the way home I filled up at my local Shell station for $2.89/gallon. Life is good!

you should of said 'let me take you for a spin' and let the wife sit in the back of the cop car while you and him did some 'spirited' driving :driving:

You could install the side skirts on your bed eh?

The Z, she sits in the garage. Supposed to warm up to the 50's this weekend. But I'll be cooking 8 turkeys, 70 pounds of potatoes and a boatload of dressing.

Yes...a boatload.

Well, the guy _was_ on duty, so if something had gone sideways, it would have been far more than embarrassing. And he told me a couple of times that my name sounded familiar and asked if he had given me a ticket before. He didn't really looked like he believed me when I assured him that he hadn't :ugh2:

But the mental image of my wife cooling her heels in the back of a cop car for a while does make me chuckle!

Im running the same set up (except 17" all around) on my DD this winter. Never had winter tires before but everyone told me Blizzaks are the best so I'm excited to see how they perform.

Pintsize725 11-22-2014 12:20 PM

A guy with an SL500, who just moved in, said my exhaust sounded really good.

Zerocool 11-22-2014 04:02 PM

changed my oil.

my motor likes taking 6 qts instead of the 5.25

blackcherry20 11-22-2014 04:32 PM

Back from body shop yesterday. Wash and wax today (thank god for the mercurial Ohio weather) then under cover until March 2015. Ugh. But really really happy Harry is home.

Serviced the Z today. I am at 29,400 miles and went ahead and did most of the 30,000 mile service. Changed the oil, tranny fluid, and Diff fluid. Brake fluid and Clutch fluid looked like new. I just have the coolant flush to do. I need to pick that up. Tranny fluid was good, it just had some metal flakes in it from the syncro's, normal on the first change. The Diff fluid looked like crap and had a good amount of metal sludge on the magnet. More than I like to see. Hopefully the diff won't look that bad at 60,000 miles when it get's changed again.

Sucks to hear, although you could have pulled in nose first and a lot closer to the pillar on the right. I would've waited for the Scion owner.

Masterbeatty 11-23-2014 04:51 PM

Well it was 52 degrees in ct today and sunny so my wife and I decied to take the Z for a drive. While driving I got a thumps up from a dude In a chopped Duce coupe and scared the crap out of a older couple in a corvette while down shifting.:driving:
