The wheels were finished by Getyourwheels. It isn't powdercoated. The finished is call Brushed Gloss Antique Bronze.

By the way, are you mad like angry or made like insane/wacked/nuts/psycho? I have puzzled over this.

Not angry. Just a scientist that doesn't follow the normal path, thinks way outside of the box.

JARblue cleaned my dirty throttle bodies today.

My wife is a scientist -- a lab animal type (DVM/PhD). She is not normal either. She married me. What more can I say?

:icon17: haha, im thinking about getting them wrapped with either S04's
or RE11's using the ray's metal valve stems this time.

officially swapped my Z's wheels back to WEDS tonight using the neochrome lugs. :p

I really enjoyed RE11's on my 350z.

yah, i really like the tread pattern and meaty shoulders on them.

but they are a decade old technology... :ugh:

aszyd 07-19-2014 07:35 PM

I spent all day in Boca Raton picking up and installing the custom sub / amp enclosure that I purchased from another member. I guess the good part about that is the 5 hour round trip that I got to spend in my Z.

If you aren't losing fluid from the Clutch Reservoir and you haven't bled the lines recently and left air in there, it's probably the Master Cylinder. I'd follow the "Ranger Protocol", look it up on Google. If that doesn't correct/help it then it's probably your master.

Well now I have no pressure in the system since I bled it. Before bleeding it I only had to add a tiny bit so I did lose some, probably due to a leaking csc.

14ZTSport 07-20-2014 10:23 AM

Ye olde 2 bucket wash, dry and window/mirror/wheel cleaning. Sitting at 1k miles on break in, so will be finishing break in this week :happydance:!

NO rain in the forecast, so maybe I can go first week since ownership without driving a muddy car :driving:.

Will be researching after market exhausts this week, leaning towards fast intentions carbon fiber. Have to verify installation height compared to stock and where lowest point is (steep driveway, at least in z terms)...no other car ever had issues, but scraping the front dam in an out, so need exhaust that sits like stock.

38k miles on the car. Fluid was relatively clean looking. Did have a lot of metal in the drain pan though.

Polished up the NISMO muffler while I was under there.

Bananaz 07-20-2014 04:40 PM

Tried to bleed my clutch again And still no pressure in the pedal so I assume csc failed but how could I know it's not the master?

aszyd 07-20-2014 07:22 PM

I installed the front camber arms and rear toe bolts.

You don't. And it probably is (if not both). CMC is certainly the cheaper and easier of the two to fix. Before you throw $800 at labor to remove the transmission, that is.

Yeah ill be doing it with a friend anyway so no big deal I'm replacing both and adding a stainless line.

Spooler 07-20-2014 08:49 PM

Washed her up and changed out the in-cabin air filter to one that contains carbon. Helps keep the smell out.

I cringed when I saw they put the stupid slave cylinder inside the bell housing. Why the heck did they go to that crappy design. Slave cylinders always die. Now I have to drop the tranny to deal with it. Ugg....

Throttle body party at JAR's Friendly Neighborhood Garage this weekend. Full TB removal and cleaning for Ms. Pint and Mr. Athlon_omega. Ms. Pint might have some pics to add

I removed and cleaned my TBs, at the same time taking the opportunity to do the TB coolant hose bypass mod. I also detailed the engine bay including removing, cleaning, and dressing all trim/cowl pieces.

I just did the work myself (with a buddy leading the way) a few weeks ago... in my amateur garage on jack stands, no less. But I installed the Z1 CSC Elimination Kit as a preventative measure. There is a heavy duty CSC available for ZSpeed as well. If you're gonna go through the trouble of dropping the transmission, definitely don't use OEM replacement CSC.

Gping the z speed route. ;)

And did you get a code after taking the TBs off and cleaning them?

Here's a video of what we encountered on my vehicle after reinstalling the tbs. No idea what it was...any guesses?

Here are pics of one of the tbs still installed and the backside when removed. Both were prior to being cleaned, obviously. I didn't get a shot of the cleaned version.

Weird... Did it go away, or does it come back every time you start? I installed ported throttle bodies and the car did not do anything out of the ordinary.

Bananaz 07-20-2014 11:13 PM

Most likely the ecu just adjusting since you unplugged the tps'.

Went away after the third start. It could be how I was sitting, but I was sensing some hesitation to accelerate beyond 2k rpm this afternoon. I'll be running it through some paces tomorrow.

Aaargh! Wheel hop!

:shakes head: Discovered over the weekend that my differential bushings are shot. Now researching for a replacement. Definitely not going back to OEM. :happydance:

Hey Tracie,

I just cleaned mine out yesterday.

I didn't totally disconnect them just pulled them out far enough to get in and clean them with a brush and carb cleaner.

Mine started right up with no issue so Im guessing like it was mentioned it had to relearn the tbs position since they were disconnected.

At first I thought it was a vacuum leak But it corrected itself so thats out the window.

Good to hear its corrected.

Sorry to hear that Rafael :(

You going to replace it with another stock bushing or aftermarket?

Going with Whitelines. I'm also open to other ideas. I see some yellow Whitelines which is odd. I know SPL makes 'em but think it is overkill i don't know. It is a $45 difference between the two. Any thoughts G?

None!

I have yet to fully examine that to give an honest opinion on what way to go.

SPL's are solid iirc. you'll get a huge increase in NVH going the solid route. id definitely go with the polyurethane whitelines. i have a set sitting around for when i either get a new LSD or my bushings go out. whichever first :ughdance:
