Went to pop the hood on my 1975 280zt and the darn thing won't open. Boy was I pissed. Something else to fix. I did drive it for about 30min and topped it off with gas.

JARblue 10-27-2014 10:40 AM

Put on RE-11s this weekend. Got an alignment and state inspection (2 months overdue) this morning. Approximately 700 miles of :driving: scheduled for tomorrow.

The only handling upgrades are new tires on both (Nitto Invos and Potenza RE11s). Spoiler- my nismo cleaned house with the competition. Now I just need that 500whp he's got under the hood of the z06... It was a perfect day. :)

Correction (not that anyone cares in the slightest lol) - Z06 was running NT05s, not Invos. Still got worked, of course! ;)

Katie's/Old Brogue is my absolute favorite C&C in the area! Amazing turnout there, hundreds of thousands of $ worth of beauties, friendly people and good food and coffee. Next time you go let's try and link up!

I will keep that in mind next time around. Z_Stig was there this last weekend. There are a couple of guys in FRS crowd that I hang out with. I used to work with one of them. He has turbocharged his FRS and is getting 400+ to the wheels. Now he needs brakes. PTuning sometimes uses his car as a test bed.

I totally forgot to mention that the tech who handed me the keys asked me if I put premium in it and then proceeded to tell me that I have spark knock

No, I put diesel in it and my tuner has that $hit super lean on purpose  That noise you're unfamiliar with is VVEL :tiphat:

I know the feeling. A friend at work was asking me about price ranges for a used 370 so I took a look at Auto Trader and found a local '11 PW Sport Touring, non-nav, with 22k mi for $25K. That seems like steal to me, especially compared to the other listings. Where the only lower prices are for base models and high mileage examples. If I had the money, I would buy it right now. There's got to be something wrong with that car.

Zipper 104 10-28-2014 12:10 AM

Today..

Today I dropped my '13 PW Sport off to have Xpel and C Quartz Finest put on.
Looking at her from a 100 or so feet away I realized just how lame she looks at stock height. Now I have no choice but to go ahead with a Swift springs and wheel spacer project. Bummer.

After about a week of having the Fuji diffuser, the 3M tape I used gave up on the passenger side and let loose. I picked up the 3M VHB tape and it came to the rescue. Lesson learned: I will never use anything less from now on.

My base went for $22k and it had 23k miles on it. One previous owner and no damage. Car is in great shape minus the swirl marks it had when I got it.

The one I saw yesterday was for the same price, 19k miles. sports, non touring.

Two 4 hour sessions, and I felt fine. The Z is honestly more comfortable on long drives than any of my previous cars as well as most rental cars I'm willing to pay for. It's cheaper for my company to rent me a car for most trips, but I'd rather drive the Z, be more comfortable and pocket the mileage reimbursement. We bought the Z to drive it, and the reimbursement is a good base for the Z maintenance/mod fund.

The trip home wasn't bad despite backing off my speed a bit. Picked up a good bit of time when I found a BR-Z on the south side of Dallas and cruised with him all the way to 130 north of Austin. We found some good open road just south of Salado. Glad I didn't get the ticket there :stirthepot: :driving: It was funny to watch (and smell) the BR-Z every time space opened up. He was obviously downshifting a gear or two, and I had no trouble keeping up with him by just easing into the throttle in 6th lol
