Laser. I don't have anything for detection. First ticket in a couple of years.

Yea, I have had a few trips across state at 3 to 4 hours and I felt fine. It's a comfy car. And I'm an old fat fart with creaky joints. I do better in the Z than in the wifes Altima.

I've had two camera tickets, a red light and a speed camera. The red light, yea I tried to hotfoot around the corner before the light turned red, late to a meet. The speed camera, on a road never traveled and missed it. I have not had an actual conversation with an officer yet while driving the Z. I assume I will some time. It's kind of inevitable.

I've gotten more warning that tickets in this car. I got one for doing 57 in a 35 lol He was very nice and just wanted to chat about the car. The speed trap was stupid though; the frontage road is 35 mph to a 65 mph highway. He got me coming over a hill accelerating to get take the on-ramp.

Speed cameras aren't very prevalent around here. Red light cameras aplenty.

It's cheaper for my company to rent me a car for most trips, but I'd rather drive the Z, be more comfortable and pocket the mileage reimbursement. We bought the Z to drive it, and the reimbursement is a good base for the Z maintenance/mod fund.

The trip home wasn't bad despite backing off my speed a bit. Picked up a good bit of time when I found a BR-Z on the south side of Dallas and cruised with him all the way to 130 north of Austin. We found some good open road just south of Salado. Glad I didn't get the ticket there :stirthepot: :driving: It was funny to watch (and smell) the BR-Z every time space opened up. He was obviously downshifting a gear or two, and I had no trouble keeping up with him by just easing into the throttle in 6th lol

brutal on the ticket... i've actually had to back off my road runner speeds since my last ticket. also saved me 1000 in insurance for fighting it... lol damned azn kids in their rice rockets being all cool (hint that's me)

we have red-light camera's here. but not enough camera's for boxes... but that said i rather stop first in line so i can launch myself to 60 :excited:

When I was younger (~8 years ago lol), I had a spurt where I got four speeding tickets in less than 12 months. No change on my insurance ;) They just called and told me not to get another one within 6 months :D

TerribleONE 10-29-2014 02:52 PM

Went to check on the wrap removal progress!

Forgot how awesome the PW looks

Been lazy and had a dirty engine bay for a while, but I'm testing the SPEng billet coolant overflow, was lucky enough to get the first production model.

oh looks nice! does it offer any benefits? cooler coolant perhaps?

VRSean 10-29-2014 07:12 PM

Well it's shiny, so there's that. My coolant temps suck in AZ so I haven't seen the difference in it

Met up with a few local forum members and got to listen to a Fast Intentions setup with 18" resonators. What can I say? I'm sold on FI!

Must be nice not to care about swirl marks and such when one has a wrap aye? Bonus being, fresh paint still under there when removed.

Fixed my shift knob gap between the boot finally. Much cleaner but I can't grip the full shift knob anymore because it sits right below it. Hm.

Xpel Ultimate & C Quartz Finest

Picked up the Z from having the Xpel and C Quartz application done.
Sorry for lousy IPod photo. You just can't see how glossy the finish really is.
The Xpel has some new formula of gloss coat on top of it and the C Quartz has 'Reload' applied.
Made it home and inside without hitting any rain. Now it's a week before I can wash it with any soap. 104

It was pretty expensive but my Z is the 1st car I've bought in 22 years. I went 15 years without a car since I sold the last one I had. I wanted a toy. The PITA Harleys are all gone
I don't need a daily driver where I live and work so it sits parked up to a week at a time and I'll be putting it away for the winter in a few weeks until April. Even though I only drive it in decent weather (I won't take it out if its raining) and however slim the odds are, I'd be pretty pissed if I picked up even one rock chip. This is how I justified the cost. It's pretty expensive to redo the paint on the front with PW.
I had Xpel put on the front, the front fenders, the full hood, the A pillars, rockers, headlamps, side mirrors and a strip behind the rear wheel well.
C Quartz Finest went on the rest of the car including the insides and outsides of the wheels. The car had no protection on it since new so it just had to be washed, decontaminated and the front corrected to prep for the Xpel.
I can hit it with water in the first week, but no soap.
I was told to give the Xpel a few days before I really look it over critically, and to wait until I wash it once to see what the C Quartz will ultimately look like.
Now it's time to drop it on Swifts.

Is the miles or the swirl marks on the roof you can't see?

Used some Griots car wash on my Harry in preparation for body work and shop. Need to clean the wheels and tire shine. Already swept out the interior too.
 I love this car.

Hoping the guys working there will notice how sweet he looks and take really good care while he is out of my control.:ugh2:

Checked spare tire pressure. It was only 28 psi.

Winter is coming

Actually drove the Z to CVS last night, then the bank, then the grocery store. Almost like a DD, but not. Who knows what is in store tonight.

that's smart, msbc. bodyshop workers will judge your car when they receive harry and when he's looking like he's been well taken care, they will put extra effort into making a great job turn out even better.
