Grocery shopping. I still surprise myself at how much food actually fits in the back of the Z.

Today at Home Depot, and I park next to a late model Z. Then leaving the store this young couple walk out with me...I say to myself, I bet this guy drives the Z. We get there and sure enough he opens the Z drivers door. I say, I thought you were they Z guy when I saw you walk out....He says, uh, it's her car....oops, sorry! He drives a G35. Oh well.
It was kind of awkward after that social gaffe.
PS: BlackCherry20, a pic of you with your car would be nice.

short shorts!

Today it rained 90% of the day. So she sat in the garage. Did do a spot of detailing.. little things.

Went on a sweet road trip to the beach yesterday with a buddy. Today I washed all the bugs off the car, did some shopping and now I'm going to go out later this evening for some sensual cruisin'

Zerocool 07-06-2014 07:08 PM

Drove her to work....then worked on a friends 350z. Speaker and amp installation

Took the Z out shopping with the girlfriend (mainly to put miles on it for break in, 650 miles now!) then brought it home for a bath.

Magic Bus 07-06-2014 08:00 PM

Wow, is that soap or icing??

BA9092 07-06-2014 08:13 PM

Foam cannons are great!

I adjusted my rear sway, so I can hopefully avoid killing myself, and finished the Plasti-clean on the door handles. Goo Gone works wonders on the stuff.

Zerocool 07-06-2014 10:18 PM

dip dissolve works well too.. from dipyourcar.com it practically eats away the dip and just hose it off to get the rest off.

Experimented with a new product called "WipeNew" to add color and restore your black plastic pieces on the Z that have faded due to the sun :shakes head:

I used it on the black plastic pieces above and between the fangs, chin spoiler, and the plastic by the mirrors and it worked pretty well.

I also posted up a write up in the cosmetic/detailing section if anyone wishes to read.

Anyone get a sense of excitement when they see another 370 on the road? Maybe it's just me since it's rare to see another one around my neck of the woods.

LunaZ 07-07-2014 08:31 AM

Detailed under the hood, washed and covered for this week's thunderstorms.

OK. I put my satin cover over my 370 this morning after I gave her a once-over with my California Duster. Then I left for the airport.

Better?

Photoshop. :icon17:

Seriously, I use Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer with microfiber towels. On the shiny things I use Never Dull wadding and then a quick buff with microfiber.

I watched the DYC video on the stuff and once he said "citrus based," I knew what direction I was going. I have a bottle of Goo Gone, I don't have Dip Dissolver.

When I saw the bottle of Dip Dissolver, I was like, "looks like the citrus boat cleaner from Walmart."

I think intelligence is the best antidote for Plasti-Dip. It's a preventative thing.

Simple Green is a great product, but it does not dissolve the Dip like Goo Gone. It's also debatable whether SG is safe on auto paint.

So today was a good Z day. I had gotten a call from DMV last Thursday night about 4:30 p.m. that my specialty plates were in...they closed at 5, Friday was a government holiday, so I didn't get to pick them up until this morning. Over the past week, all the home car care products came in from Amazon, so since I had to take my old (3 week old :roflpuke2:) plates in to the DMV, figured I'd clean her up before I put the new plates on...below are my results! p.s. Ignore the flys on the hood...couldn't shoo them away for anything and didn't use a flyswatter for obvious reasons...

was fine. not that im saying it is fine on our hypersilver wheels...

Agreed! Unless you like cars that appear to be made of play dough.

LNATKFRNG 07-07-2014 08:19 PM

Today's box of goodies included stillen pulley and one step colder plugs, then I looked at the Z for a few while wishing it didn't rain so much.

The pulley is a worthy mod.

aszyd 07-07-2014 09:05 PM

Pulleys are awesome! Flywheels are better! The combination is amazing!

As for what I did, I spent the day in constant deliberation about picking up a Bride seat, or two.

Mt Tam I am 07-07-2014 10:53 PM

I opened it up for the first time in a week due to traffic.

Nice plates and nice shots. Picture 3 -- without the plates it's a shark, with the plates our cars look like a rabbit. Congrat on the Z! Best car care product I got was the porter cable DA polisher. Great investment and I highly recommended it.
