I love to look on some other motorists faces when I drive by in heavy rain and my wipers are off. I did an Aquapel (like Rain-x) treatment over a year ago and that rain just flies off, love it.

Z is just so aerodynamic...rain stands no chance :icon17:

:icon17: yah, i hear aquapel is good stuff. ive only tried rain-x and even that
works real well in a down pour.

i like rain-x's cleaning properties. like if i have water stains from a sprinkler,
rain-x and a papertowel will remove that. also to prevent wiper hop.

Plugs with less than 3000 mi, but victim of previous valve cover leak. Dealer didn't want to change plugs this time under warranty, so I said F...u and it.

First oil change coming tonight. Thanks to the AK DIY I have all the right kind of stuff, except for the oil. I'm using different oil. And I didn't get the copper crush washer. OBE because, um...

What brand of oil should I use? :ugh2:

Mmmm, bummer. Oh well. I can live with $45.00 ramps and some extensions I guess. Those raceramps are the high priced spread. I especially like the look of the two-piece ramps.

yah, they are.

i have 2 sets of flatstoppers from them and they are of high quality. this is
why ive been wanting that 2pc 56 for a while... but the thing is, my current
setup works just fine, so... :icon17: actually provides MUCH MORE clearance
than the 56 to air deflector.

Did you do the DIY for the helpers? I thought I saw one on here somewhere.

i had posted pictures at one time, but something happened a few years back which pissed me off enough to delete them all.

so no, i dont have any picts. :D

on mine i took some scrap oak planks and made the extensions to cover
about 1/2 to 3/4 way up the rhino ramp with supports underneith.

the extensions are then screwed down to the rhino while in use. it's a very
effective extension all made by hand.... i dont have a power saw or sander. :ugh:

jpkirk 07-31-2014 02:06 PM

Well, we will see how it goes tonight. I have the wood around to make it work.

Finished installing my Polk components (db6501) and Alpine power pack amp (KTP-445U) - so happy I ditched the stock speakers! This amp is seriously awesome too - fits behind the headunit and taps into the factory wiring for so you don't need to run a separate power cable (and puts out 90w RMS x 2 at that!)

oh... i c. i think you're going to like those speakers. if i ever decide to swap my Z's speakers out,
it will be the db6501's for sure. but ive been pretty happy with just the AVH-4500BT's eq and
processors. :D

I have been following this thread on the forum. It is a great place to

I was going to go for the MM6501's but decided to go a bit cheaper. Maybe one day I'll upgrade, but with the stock headunit I don't know if I should go much further right now.

i think you will be happier getting an aftermarket HU next vs getting better speakers for your stock radio. :D

kenchan 07-31-2014 04:18 PM

especially the pioneers have a real nice EQ...

I truly hate the look of most aftermarket HUs, which is why I'm sticking with stock. Blaupunkt makes pretty OEM looking units for a really good price, just not high on my priority list :-)

that's odd... my pioneer doubledin looks factory finish in my ride. :D
even the button illumination colors are set to amber/red to match.

and steering wheel controls work, so does rear view camera.
