Closed on my new house, first thing moved in was the Z before the snow comes. She now has her own insulated garage and doesn't have to be assaulted by the neighbors stupid cats. :)

Spooler 12-11-2014 09:15 PM

Had a great week driving my Z back and forth to work. Loved every minute of it. Even though I-16 is rough as hell. Did figure out the faster I go, the better it feels...:)

Just finished dipping my front burger and on the rear I have a black 3,7 and Z. The 0 will have to wait as I'm not respraying it for the 3rd time tonight. Probably end up doing the back burger and valance this weekend.

Big snowstorm in my town, decided to try the new dashcam I just bought and have a little fun in the snow. Had a blast but I need to play with the sound settings more. All you hear is road noise when going 20-30mph. Camera is a Blackvue DR600GW-HD. Got a killer deal with the Power Magic Pro. Was super easy to install.

Here's a little sample. 2nd lady on the left was looking at me with a "WTF is he doing?" look lol.

Just found the nail that was causing the slow leak in my rear tire. Going to make some coffee and put the spare on until morning.

Haboob 12-12-2014 08:11 AM

Dropped her off last night to get an oil change, rear diff fluid change, and transmission fluid change.

Also going to have them put my new front rotors on and pads all around - was going to do this myself, but I don't have the tools, nor the time to do it.

Then I have to head out to the empty freeway at 2:00a and bed the brakes. Going to be nice to smooth braking again vs. the violent vibrations I'm getting now. :icon17:

I really want to get a Blackvue camera. I just can't justify one at the moment.

how many miles for your diff/tranny fluid?

and yea... had some warping in my mom's car's rotors... let's just say stopping above 100km/h was a bit shaky... literally lol.

42,800ish.

Changed the diff fluid first around 20-25,000 though. This is the first tranny fluid change.

:( She'll be two years old tomorrow.

If you're paying someone to install the rotors and pads, they should bed the brakes for you...

He is. My point is that if you're paying someone to install new rotors and pads, they should be the ones to perform the bedding procedure. You shouldn't be picking up a car with new brake pads that aren't properly bedded.

That would require them to drive my car and do several 60-5mph runs, no? I don't approve of that.

if it's small and away from the sidewall, just plug it from the outside. i do it on my dd's all the time, never had an issue with them blowing up like some folks lies.

make sure your tireshop has a touchless mounter if you do take it in... and remove the weights, center cap, rings, valve cap, etc. roll it in.

If I were trusting enough to let someone to change the pads and rotors, I would trust them to bed the brakes. But I'm not :icon17:

Also, I find it funny that you complain about not having time to do the work, yet you're willing to go out at 2 am to bed the brakes  FWIW, I wouldn't be out on the roads at 2 am here because that's when all the bars close and roads become DWI rush hour :eekdance:

Well, it calls for 1,000mi of easy driving, then several 60-5mph runs. I'm not going to let them put five miles on my car, let alone 1,000.

And I'm going to try, because I have to get it done.

It's going to be difficult to stay up that late though, lol. And the freeway I am going to has no bars or vehicles on it at that time. It's way away from the city - used for street races sometimes I believe.

Came out to the Z to see my boss' MR S/T parked next to me. He knows I'm super OCD about cars near me, so he gave me some space. Love that MR color.

Turns out they did bed them. Ah well, I trust the guy and what's done is done. Oh well. Means I can get more sleep tonight I guess?

:icon17: Though I did get whiplash leaving the parking lot. Not used to them being so responsive! They look nice too.

She needs a good washin' though. :ugh:

Mt Tam I am 12-13-2014 11:40 AM

I have had my brakes returned unbedded. Then I went out and screwed them up not knowing. Ugh.

MAZOC meet, coffee and lunch. Then a drive around to places out in rural country to buy Christmas presents.

Filled the tank @ $3.03 per gallon. :happydance:

Cleaned the windshield.

QD

It's been a great day which will be followed by a great evening singing in our Christmas Cantata.

New shift knob. :driving:

Loved my PW:JDM aluminum v2, but it got too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. This TWM Specter knob is weighted and has a Delrin jacket to keep the temperature extremes in check.

Plus, I love the bigger size! The black finisher from Z1 Motorsports matches it very well and overall blends with the rest of the interior rather nicely. :D

Oh, and replaced the interior vinyl knee/side panels on the center console with the "alcantara" ones from the roadster models. Now they match the door panels too. Sweet. ;)

Finally got around to mounting my winter setup. Sport Edition A7's with 245/45/18 Blizzak LM60s. Not that bad looking IMO. Much less road noise as well which is nice.
