Depends on what you're looking for out of the alignment. To me (coming from 10 years of Miata ownership), that looks like a pretty decent alignment. I think I'd be pretty happy with those settings on this car.

My last Miata, I had a pretty aggressive alignment... -2.4* front, -2.8* rear, as much caster as I could get, and minimal toe, I think about 0.05* front and rear IIRC. Crisp, fast turn-in, excellent handling and very even tread wear. And that was on fully adjustable coil overs.

Where did you get the alignment done? Dealership?

Looking at rear SPL arms for that rear camber, I am curious tho, by running camber like what I have, how much of an increase is there in tire wear... I mean do you end up losing half the milleage or 25 % of the tires potential life... I got the Allignment done at a Firestone...

I didn't bother do the rear and front bumper for the Polish and compound. Here's the post compound pre polish shot. Lol nice and shiny!

When I waxed it was around noon. Heat helped make the application easier but also made it harder to cure. Especially the hood since engine bay was still hot.

Floozy!

kenchan 06-20-2016 07:15 AM

I started using Prima Hydro Max. It's a spray type sealant (not the usual mist and wipe after a wash type) and it goes on and off VERY easily. and u can re-apply to stack it once it fully cures in like a few minutes. highly recommend giving it a try next time. okay to use on glass and plastics, rubber, so no masking needed.

paste sealants are a thing of the past.

Man the residue on plastic you don't see sometimes until after it over cures on it. Fml pita to remove.

How is in sun application or hot days and warm surfaces?

I don't know for sure. Every car and driver is different. Like I said, I was running -2.4 and -2.8 on mine without any wear issues, and I ran those tires for around 20k miles with that alignment before selling the car. It stuck to the road like glue though!

Which Firestone did you go to? The one here on the south side on South Fl Ave past Lake Miriam Dr? If so, I won't take any of my cars there ever again. They literally took over 4 hours to mount four new tires on my Abarth which were 205/40-17's. Not only that, they damaged every single wheel with their crappy old tools. Every wheel had a nearly 2" wide gouge on the lip from their pry bars. Of course, they didn't say anything about it and had slopped on a ton of that soap so I didn't see the damage until a week later when I had a chance to wash the car. Man, I was pissed! For now on, I'll go to Tire Kingdom which is right next door to those idiots, or possibly the dealership.

On a side note, meeting up with my friend Wednesday to install the wheel spacers!

Okay, you've peaked my curiosity... just ordered this stuff. Claimed ease of application/removal combined with the durability they state is too good not to give it a try.

Plus, kenchan approved. :tiphat:

Yep more the reason to make the switch.

U want to apply this on a coolish to warm surface away from the sun.

Interesting. How would you use Prima alongside waxing? Or do you still wax?

ChaseZ 06-21-2016 05:16 PM

First time I've dropped a car off for alignment and picked it up and had been hand washed and dried. Can't complain about that.

In all fairness their shop had two ferraris, a lambo, 911 and my Z in it today :p

At least I got the same treatment even though my car cost what a set of their rims are worth! LOL

ChaseZ 06-21-2016 05:26 PM

Oh and I got one out of two blinky fender signal lights!

Hotrodz 06-21-2016 05:28 PM

Lol, I'm always amazed at how much attention a Z will get. I have had people walk past a Ferrari to look at my car and when I gone to Nissan dealership I get way more attention than a GTR does by the employees and service personal.

I go play in the GTR in the showroom when I bring mine in for service :)

Quick and dirty of the stance now. Very pleased with the suspension and ride height. Think I'll tweak it a bit firmer though. Need to consider if I'll pick up some spacers or get some better offset rims. I'd prefer the rims but then need to decide if I go wider while I'm at it... but that means new tires and I just got new tires lol

ChaseZ 06-22-2016 02:20 PM

Ooh I didn't see black ones. Would have got those instead. Aw well, nothing I'll lose sleep over

Got a cargo net and magnetic oil plug, but those are even less worthy of a picture :p

Yes it works fine, thanks.
Package showed up today from the Z store so have the other side now as well.
Glad to have the car back on the road today after the alignment and everything yesterday. Seems there is still s bit of settling so will out some miles on and see where it ends up, and if it needs further adjustment or not.

Installed a pair of carbon fiber B-pillar covers.
Wanting to do this for awhile.
Found them on ebay. 120 bucks shipped.
They are from ZCFcovers. Made&shipped in the U.S.

Look& fit great!Real carbon!

burntz 06-22-2016 04:45 PM

First Z Birthday!
Washed / clayed / polished (Thanks Junkman!) / waxed.
"Everything's shiny Capt"

Then, finally, after 3 prior (failed) attempts, I got my steering wheel controls to finally work with my stereo; feel just like Elon Musk after he landed his rocket.

Thanks to someone 2-3 pages back whom installed an Axxess ASWC which got me to revisit this issue and toss the PAC swc unit that never worked.
Can change the volume from the steering wheel like a fancy person, don't have to reach all the way over to the stereo like some hobo.

Took me a while to find them. Wanted something to match the black lug nuts, black calipers and body color matched center caps

That's the one thing I probably would have bought in CF if I'd have seen the option. Oh well, at least mine match my valve stems lol

Had my CNT Racing CBE installed on my Z today! Went with the blue tips. Considered all the usual suspects, but being in Canada the cost was insane once you add in duty, tax, shipping, and exchange. Sounds awesome, quality looks good to me, fit was perfect. Got to burn off most of the crap in there today, looked like I was pushing blue for a few miles but really did feel more free revving and smoother throughout the rev range. So much better than stock!

I got my exhaust and intakes when dollar was par thank god. Looks good. Trust me you will have residue smells for about a week or so of driving while the exhaust burns off the factory lubricants and it breaks in.

As in just rev harder:bowrofl:

25K oil change, checked fluids, cleaned out the airboxes and clutch still working fine.

S04's are wearing OK and I love the ride.
