Installed spacers on the Z.

20MM front -- 25MM rear. OEM 18" rims.

Car looks sssoooooo much better now.

I read through the "Wheel Spacers 101" thread twice so I know that there are a lot of opinions out there on spacer thickness. Here is my 2 cents -- I think that the car definitely should have come with all the wheels at the 20MM spacer width. The car looks so much more "natural" now. Having the 25MM at the rear looks good in my opinion. It looks like it is a bit more custom than what you would get from the factory, without being "over the top".

Pics please!

I want to do the same but want to see what it looks like first.

Suppose to hail here in a bit. Car is in the garage as I watch and pray my POS Civic gets totaled from grapefuit sized ice balls.

Got new LED Halos for my headlights and blinded myself while testing them

Only problem is it only looks good from the front and sides when u push out skinny wheels and tires to the limit. The rear looks likes a crab. I suggest getting new wheels and tires soon.

Getting supplies in order for a clay/compound/polish/wash n wax. Well wash pre polish this weekend.

Just going to do hood, roof doors and rear panels.

Excited!!!

Time for an oil change, reminder popped on this morning. First use of the Race Ramps, I hope I don't drive over the front...

I suppose I should clean the underside, but I'm sure the apartment complex would frown on me hooking up the kenchan method for under car cleaning... hose & sprinkler... :rofl2:

Woke up way early this morning and instead of going back to sleep I made a cup of coffee and went and sprayed the second set of door handles I ordered. Nice and heavy on the clear to take the wear and tear of hands all over them. cant wait to get these on!

Also got my RE11's installed this afternoon. Only had time for a real quick boot but so far very pleased. Plus they fill the wheel well SO much better. Still want some 15mm spacers for the front though. Meaty tires, got to love em'

Picking up my suspension components tomorrow so it will be a bit of a wrench fest here all weekend. Next week the exhaust, intake and oil cooler should be in followed by uprev dyno tune. Be like a whole new car! :p

If anyone was curious, those fumoto oil drain valves work amazingly well. Took about a half hr to drain fully, but no mess. No leaks, no searching for the plug in the oil. It just worked.

On a side note, someone remind me to PLEASE BUY a low profile jack. Swifts and a regular jack can only work from jacking the rear, putting stands under it, and then jacking each side for additional sides.

kenchan 06-15-2016 07:04 AM

adjusted psi..

:ugh:

:( I couldn't make it to the airstrip at zdayz. He's a cool guy to be with. Minus the fact everytime he talked about his turbos I was thay much closer to making a financially irresponsible move. Plus I could run that cool FI sticker.... :excited:

Yep... I KNEW this was going to be an issue... I'll probably be doing the same in prep for the Swifts when the time comes.

It was a nightmare. I jacked from the rear and put a single stand on the right side. Lowered and then jacked from the front fender so i could shuffle the first stand to the front. Repeated on the left side. And double repeated to lower the car back to the ground. I'll be going to harbor freight real soon for that extended reach low pro jack.

Speaking of that... I've only had my Z for three weeks (as of today) and read somewhere on here that tire pressures from the dealership can be all over the place and cause the handling of the car to feel "floaty" at speed.

Well I checked mine a few days ago. They're supposed to be 35 psi all the way around. Front left was 51, front right was 48, right rear 45, and left rear 40.

I now have the fronts at 37, and the rears at 33. Much better and well planted at speed (70-80 mph).

All this time, I thought Bowden was that weirdly highly-recessed rest-area. Next time, it's a pee and a burger. Yes. In that order.

Definitely in that order.

Too many Tims on the way up!

What I did WITH my Z today was drive around for an hour trying to find a decent place to take some good pics without people or other cars around, but never found a spot.

What I just did FOR my Z is order a pair of OEM "Z" side markers (repeaters), four 20mm Z1 wheel spacers, and a GT-R start button.

B&W_Evader 06-16-2016 09:05 AM

Tested the new LSD on a highway off-ramp that has a huge transition from cambered to off-cambered. Pitched out a bit and just corrected with a little steering input, no need to let off the gas any more. :happydance:

ChaseZ 06-16-2016 09:59 PM

Got the coilovers, links and a arms on. Definitely needs an alignment, and take some negative camber out front and rear. I'll get it as close as can before I bring it in. The rears could stand to go down about 1/4" more but am tempted to drive on it a bit first and see it there is any settling. And how much difference proper camber makes with my gaps.

Can't go any lower that's for sure. Barely make it up the back ally into my garage! :icon17:

Glad to get this far at least. Big improvement now between the tires and suspension.

While I was at it I put a jumper from the DRL to the parking lights so the DRLs stay on with the headlights. That always bugged me.

Did a little spraybomb customizing to a tow hook

This will be my first post on this forum but I have been lurking around for a while now and decided it's time for an account lol.

I ended up doing my oil change today and still waiting on my GTHaus axle back exhaust to be delivered. I probably should clean it too...
