This is why I am glad I do not live in the great white north.......:gtfo2:

Myself, I went into the glove compartment and got out 20.00 for lunch today. Left her sitting pretty in the garage.

Finally!! it was time for a mandatory smog check.

It passed on the UPrev stock map, stock cats & intakes.

Now back to reinstalling the Stillen Gen3 & Berk HFC's

Drove it to dinner tonight, not even 24hrs out of storage and a bird craps on it.

TroppoVeloce 03-21-2015 06:48 AM

Sometimes she gets to be on top

Today I'm installing some awesome FI HFCs, and I have the rest of the 18" resonated FI exhaust out to find a small leak from the original installation (bought used, I may not have scraped off all of the old gasket material). Also, I needed to remove the exhaust to make enough room to wiggle out the rear sway bar and replace it with this Whiteline one. I only did the front yesterday because it looks like someone (I got my z used) either tried to jack up the car on one of the diagonal brace bolt heads, or they just wrenched it into oblivion. Either way, I've got new shiny things to install and finding a replacement bolt isn't going to get in the way so the exhaust has to move to make up for the brace not coming out.
So, here's a preemptive what I 'will have done' with my z today, hopefully I won't be back soon with a "OMG why doesn't this thing work" post.

[my view]

Unfortunately here it would have failed the visual inspection. :(

Isn't it ok with the Stillen gen 3 ? It's carb legal.

Gotta love California eh? I love to visit, they have some incredible parks and stuff. We don't have that problem in MD. As long as the check engine light isn't on and there is enough data collected for the things they car about, you are good. We don't have the LA temperature inversion problem though. Nor the truly fanatic liberals.

Drove to choir practice this morning. I really like some of the freeway onramps around here.

Yes, But you need to show the smog tech the carb approved form from Stillen before he decides to fail it for having a non oem intake.

I learned how to drive on a 1967 Ford Falcon that had the same steering wheel, loved it but I'm having a hard time seeing it on a much modern car, props thou man, makes it unique and the windshield wiper lever makes it appear to be a 3 speed on the column weird uh? sucks to be old and have nobody relate :driving:

I drained oil on my garage floor today due me buying the only 12qt oil catch that had a unintended hole in the bottom. Had to return it to the store for another and buy some oil absorbent. Redline installed and wheels cleaned.

I opened the garage door, looked at her, shook my head because she is still in hover mode, closed door and went back inside.

Me = sad...

Nah... none of that. He has been installing boost over the past few months. I think he's having some issues with the clutch, so it recently went back up on jack stands.

Haboob 03-23-2015 08:54 AM

Got her washed finally. Found several more rock chips on the doors... Stinkin' freeways in Phoenix are lined with rock and dirt. :(

Bananaz 03-23-2015 09:03 AM

Winter wheels & tires off, summer ones back on.

Changed the oil and filter. Has to be an easier way, it takes longer to take the under body pan off than to change the oil. :shakes head:

Road trip to Wichita and back... dodged a very fat possum on the way back.. :icon14:

Get that ZSpeed undertray. It has a little door you open for access to the filter and plug.

ZSpeed aluminum under shroud

2 hour drive, dodged one deer.

There is a flap on the OEM one as well. Only requires removing 4 bolts and holding the flap back (bungee cord works well for this). I don't think I've ever removed the entire shroud except for a few times for cleaning and when I dropped the transmission.

I'll have to look for that. I don't recall seeing one on mine.
