I'm debating this very thing. I've had it on the soft setting since installing it about six months ago. Handles great, but need to give the firm setting a try. What's the biggest difference that you noticed between the two settings? I'm also running the stock rear sway.

I honestly like the stiff setting best. The turn in feels great and it actually helped dial out most of the understeer I experienced during spirited drives. Generally too stiff in the front will add understeer on a rwd car but itll take a pretty stiff bar for that to happen in our cars. The Z needs all the bar it can get up front. Even on stiff, I have no problem getting the rear to rotate how I want using the throttle. Coupled with Swift springs and a good alignment, am pleased with how it handles at the moment.

Only reason I changed to the soft setting end of last year was due to bad roads around here. The difference isn't night and day but it was more comfortable when my wife and I were cruising around town. Soft is a good compromise from the stock bar. It still understeers but not as bad.

1st time ever "service engine light" came on. Hooked up OBD2, P0101 code, cleaned air filter/box area and MAF then reset. Then to test it, took the Z on one of my favorite driving routes in East Oahu this morning. All's well and Zorro's running like a champ :driving:

Good info, b15. Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll change to the firm setting before ZDayZ. Things feel good now, but kept wondering if they would feel even better by changing the setting.

Rolled her over on 8000 miles yesterday and today, got an oil change.

:tiphat: let me know what you think.

Have fun at zdayz! I wanted to go this year but having a baby changes things. One of these years I'll get out there

Leingod 03-11-2016 08:03 PM

Saw a Z on the road when I ran to get a burrito for dinner. I almost shed a tear. It was covered it dirt and salt from the roads. Front driver's side headlight was out.

Will do. Sorry you won't be a ZDayZ this year, but family comes first, for sure. Look forward to you making it next year, though!

What kind of ramps are those?? I'm thinking of getting the raceramps. Getting tired of fighting with Jack points for my Z.

They're PowerRamp ramps but they're the same thing as RhinoRamps. They're so much more convenient than jacking up the car. The only problem I've notice in the past was if I was lowered and went to drive forward onto them (to change my oil for example) the bottom of my front bumper would sometimes push the ramps forward. I solved that problem with putting two pieces of wood before the ramp to raise the car up a half inch. Other than that, 10x better than messing around with a jack and jackstands.

barncobob 03-12-2016 05:58 PM

rhino ramps are A+, get thw wider ones and most lb.(pound rating). U do need a piece of 2x something for the front.

mishuko 03-13-2016 10:10 AM

Terrible news for my Z... took it to the shop Friday to do the MSC/HD CSC swap and I get a call Saturday saying the bleeder on the CSC is leaking.

:( contacted Z-speed and now Monday seems like a million hours from now (even with day light savings)

On the bright side I'm glad I did it early instead of near zdayz so I can hammer out any of these silly kinks and be on with the gong show err fun =)

I always liked these style exhaust but they hang way lower than the factory style. Any scraping issues with that?

The new one looks way lower that your original pic exhaust

Since mine is still in storage and I can't read the paint code, what's the general consensus on my cars color? I believe it's the platinum graphite (K51). I need to order some OEM parts....

Yeah the old one, Beluga Racing, sat higher than the Motordyne but so far no scraping. I'm at stock ride height and have gone into some pretty uneven parking lot entrances since Saturday. I don't think the exhaust hangs much lower than any cross bracing.

I can't comment on the height of the Motordyne vs stock exhaust because when I bought the car it came with the Beluga.

It's always nice just hearing from you MSBC. Hope all is well. I only have to wait another week or 2 to get mine out of storage to figure out the paint code anyways.
