The invoice said they used 74804-02031 synthetic which looks like it's 5W30 but the little sticker on the window says 0W20: http://images.peakauto.com/full_synt...otor_specs.pdf Should I call 'em and ask WTF? Drain it? When these freebies are gone, I intend to buy the Redline kit from Z-1 and DIY but as long as they're free don't mind paying a nominal amount for the convenience of it, but yeesh. |

I get $10 synthetic oil changes at dealership. The last time they did not use synthetic and yes. I made them do it again. |

Either way, I would just buy the Redline kit at next opportunity and go ahead and DIY. No rush, but I wouldn't bother waiting a full oil change cycle. $30 gone, no big deal. Dealers swindle way more from customers on a regular basis. |
Today on the drive home, my clutch felt funky. Like softer but earlier engagement and not allowing me to put the car in gear. Turns out my clod hopper of a boot was catching on the edge of the carpet on the dead pedal. Phew :D

after I blew up my 350 (with a poorly thought out DIY turbo install) I then only changed the oil filter every 10-12k miles, I was adding a quart every 2 months due to a slooow rear main seal leak so figured the oil was being changed that way, it lasted another 50k miles after I blew up then fixed myself (new pistons/ rods and oil pan) I just let it leak as I'd already had to pull the engine twice due to screwing up the oil rings install the first time, spy-hunter level smoke screen throughout the test drive [i did have to swear to MrsBurntz I'd never put a turbo on this one, apparently I have a one engine limit (hello supercharger!)] consider sending off your oil to be tested, if they say "why did you send us new oil" you could lengthen your interval, I'm hoping you don't use synthetic Enjoy!:driving: |

I'm interested in a picture showing the other side and just how close you're to the wall, back up camera equipped? I pull straight in with the passenger mirror 2-3" from my work bench but WOULD NOT want to back in at the same spacing http://i334.photobucket.com/albums/m...psacrie13h.jpg i did back out once with my 350 and the mirror caught a dangling circular saw power cord avalanching it down onto the hood "fuuuuuuuuu....":owned: myself & to stay on thread topic I'm off to paint the chrome around my Zs charcoal grey, that's my last chrome bit on my MB 370, I 'black chromed' everything else but that wee outline was too annoying to tape off here's a pic I sent to my wife at work the day after I picked it up... http://i334.photobucket.com/albums/m...psjpt1pxvk.jpg |

I did something that will probably get me a lot of hate on here but whatever. I like it. And yes it'll only be on when parked.

I have the Z1 CSC Elimination Kit, so it's definitely not the CSC failing. I would normally first think to adjust the Z1 cylinder a 1/2 turn, but the fact that it was completely normal after getting soft leads me to believe that the master is failing again. I am going to order one now just to have. I will probably attempt to bleed the clutch next week sometime and see where that gets me. |
Having my F14's finally put on today (assuming the tires show up) 305/30-19 and 255/35-19
Pretty excited. She will then need a good wash and wax to look nice for tomorrow. |

I haven't posted in a while and haven't done much to the Z, but I got a new JD^2 tube notcher.

The Z is at the shop to fix the clutch safety switch issue and getting the rear differential oil change.
Just found out the car has to stay until Monday.... They couldn't find what's causing the ignition problem.... :( |
Switched out the stock CSC which was drinking fluid. Only took 3 hours of work at my friend's shop, much easier than I thought it would be.
The stock unit was pretty moist and dripping. Went with Zspeed replacement. The engagement point is a little lower than the stock CSC, but I have an adjustable pedal so I may play around a bit with it. |

I have almost done that in both the truck and the wife's Altima |
Video as promised. So Ima rookie this year. I went way wide on at least two of the turns and could have made much better speed through the slalom. However, it was clean, no penalty.
