im calling you out on your BS mpg numbers

i have the 6MT 370z and if i drive like a granny, i get close to 20mpg average(27 if i drive all highway)
heck even gunning it most of the time, the worse i will get is 15(and thats literally gunning it all the fricken time, running it to redline, ect.)

you literally have to be pumping 18 gallons into your car every 216 miles and i refuse to believe that unless something was really wrong with your car(like a bad O2 sensor or vacuum leak)

I really want to know if something is wrong with the car

Take it to a dealershit and tell them you get 10-12 MPG?
Also, just because IT says you get 10-12 MPG doesn't mean you actually get 10-12 MPG

Everyone that I see drive the Z loves it and they are never below 20mpg and some of them drive like dicks. I still love the Z I get 21-24 mpg I think. Still love it no matter what the mpg is

Yep, I'm with Old Guy. Shifting, especially in stop n go traffic, which is all we get around here, is a stone cold drag. I do like to play around with the paddles and the shift stick when no one's looking but for just getting from here to there, gimme the auto.

Did you have Frontier engine swap in your z???

Well... If you are not trolling then something is wrong with your car. Bring it to the dealership and let them diagnose it.

That would be too easy. If they fixed it and he didn't have anything to complain about, what would he do all day? He's just trolling. Any excuse to chime in and complain about the Z.

when you are down in SD please HMU

we can go to tacos and tuners or some other meet and ask the other Z owners what they think

like i said, if i gun my car at every light and drive like a wannabe honda raceboy, i will get 15mpg at the worst, i usually average 20mpg and more if i do more highway driving

have you tried resetting the MPG gauge?
i know the last time i went on a road trip(out to Ocotillo CA) i reset the MPG gauge(probably a placebo) and i got around 35mpg driving like a grandma(lots of drafting and coasting in neutral down the steep declines)

And the Auto, if left to its own devices offers better MPG than the manual

it ain't a slush box though, I love it

What RPMS do you guys normally shift up at? What speed do you downshift?

How do you take care of turning fast on a large intersection when you cannot reach for the paddles because your steering wheel is turned?

My car is in D 99% of the time,

As for the second part, you should be in the correct gear BEFORE the turn, you shouldn't be changing gears halfway through it, and our paddles are MASSIVE compared to a lot of other cars as well.
Finally, do as all the manual guys do. Use the stick

I'm in manual mode 100% of the time because I can't stand the lag of the transmission deciding what to do when I smash the gas. I used to try and switch between full auto and manual mode but I got so used to shifting and then when in auto mode I'd accidentally push it forward meaning to up shift and end up throwing the car in neutral. Not good at intersections that you need to get through quickly.

For normal driving I tend to upshift inbetween 3-5k rpms. If I'm coming to a stop I don't bother down shifting because it will automatically do that for me.

If I need to down shift for moar powa its usually between 2.5 - 4k rpms. any lower and the system may have already been in the process of down shifting resulting in two down shifts which gets interesting quickly.

the paddles are nice and long and reaching them has never been an issue. I really just tend to use the stick shift to do all my shifting though.

gas mileage, When I lived 25 minutes from work and commuting was all highways I'd get 21-22 mpg on average

Now I live 5 mins from work, still highway driving for the majority but I only get 16-17 mpg on average. Still no where near 12 but still different driving conditions can have a large affect on your gas mileage.
