Get the NISMO or Coupe "auto", don't get the manual. The 2015 Z's are faster down to 12.7 s. The Z ET's just as fast through the 1/8th as the Boss. The Z handles 2X as good, gets better MPG's, brakes better & has better aero. The Boss is all hype & all it does is goes straight.

Yes it has! More aggressive gear ratios and suspension upgrade. It's 13.1 for the 14 and below auto. You can make a car much faster just with these upgrades.

Ok, I can see 13.1 with the new 3.9 ratio, but I'm not buying 12.7 stock, no way.. not consistently anyways.

The auto is more consistent at quarters than manual. And I'm pretty sure the Nismo auto can hit 12.7 more than not. when I first read about the upgrades I was guessing on my own it would be about 12.8 seconds. so its only .1 seconds better than I thought for the auto. if you look at the power to weight ratio of the Z. it makes sense that it would be sub 13 second car if tuned decently.

They changed the gear rations in manual or auto? And is this just for 15s?

Have to be honest here to a fellow member. The Boss Stang is pretty sweet, has the power, the ride, handling etc etc. But at the end of the day it is still a Mustang. The Nismo is freaking awesome as well. Fun to drive good power, handling is nice. But it is still a 370z. The one key difference for me is that are so many Mustangs on the road already, I rarely see 370's, let alone Nismos. Drive them both and see which you like better.

Depends what you want from the car. I had a friend of mine who bought a Boss for road racing and ended up trading the car in 2 months later. He said it was fast and handled decently but he got bored of it rather quickly.

They actually didn't change the final gear ratio on the regular Zs. From what I've read it's only on the Nismo

They're both good cars. Looks are subjective. I think the Boss looks better than the Nismo. The nismo has too much areo stuff going on for my taste. The Boss is probably made much better. Nisssan kind of dropped the ball on the 370z in a lot of ways. Not a big deal on a $20,000 used example, but if I paid $40,000 and had brake failure issues on a race track, I would be pissed.
For $20,000, I would get the 370Z(used). For $4x,000, I would pick option 3 and get a Cayman or E92 M3. Last edited by 0101; 11-05-2014 at 11:25 AM. |
