Default Anyone else regret not buying a Roadster?

Maybe it's because it's Spring but this time of year makes me wonder if I should have bought a Roadster. The thought of warm days ahead and having the top down has been tempting me to look to trade my coupe in for the vert. I've had an '07 350Z Roadster and now have the 370 coupe so I can relate to having both pleasures. Do I like the looks of the coupe better??? YES! Do I like the fact that I can put down the top on warm sunny days and hot nights??? Yes! Do I care that the vert is heavier??? No! Can I afford the added payments of buying another Z??? Not really! What to do my brothers....what to do?

IMO, the roadsters really appeal to a certain type of person. You either are or aren't that type.

I say go for it if it's worth the hassle and potential cost.

No. I prefer the 370Z in coupe form.

I prefer the coupe styling and performance. Only maybe 2 days out of a year I wish I bought a roadster.

No because the roadster is heavier and a soft top.

If it was a hardtop roadster then maybe, but as long as it's a soft top, I'm not interested.

In general I like roadsters that are roadsters only. When they come in coupe and roadster form, I prefer the coupe.

I DD an S2K, so I love roadsters... but only dedicated ones.

To OP's question, I like verts that were designed to be verts. s2k and z4 come to mind. Cars that are "ported" to a vert platform often times ruin the design intention of the car due to mechanical requirements to accomodate the retractable roof. When you design a car to be a vert you've taken all of those mechanical requirements into consideration. When a car was designed to be a coupe and it had to be chopped up by a bunch of mechanical engineers then the lines of the car are compromised.

That's just my two cents from a design and looks perspective. However if you need a vert and a 370z who am I to tell you not to get one? Clearly you enjoy driving with the top down. Personally I bought my car for the performance, everything else takes a back seat to that and since verts compromise the structure as well as the weight I had to take a pass.

Actually the 370 Roadster was engineered from the ground up.
