Yes, the thing is Konigs are crap and those brembos you chose are very high end, very expensive racing units. Really, add more speakers to a bose system?

The Z is MAF based for the intakes. Using an altered version of something thats probably already not good for the car is probably not the best idea for airflow.

Thats how much it would cost you to do things right. That doesn't even include internals which would be another $6,000 at least with a block and heads.

I partially agree that many people manage to completely ruin cars. However, mods can be good for the car's performance as well. While you are right that Nissan spent millions on R&D you also have to think about the fact that Nissan had to target a whole bunch of different audiences and that they had to meet all sorts of regulations. That means that their design has to be in some ways limited and not as good as it can be. Therefore mods can make the car better for each individual, depending on what they want.

If I get a 370Z, I'd mod it just like any other car. Suspension, exhaust and wheels then some type of mild aero kit. For suspension, I'd look at KWs or Bilsteins first, then the JDM offerings.

People think they should add power first and then do everything else later. Thats a huge mistake...

500 b/c it's dual intakes...lol...or something

injen and JWT cost around the same...i think..lol

and the bigger wheel thing, that's not entirely true....depends how big you go, like an inch bigger doesn't make a big diff at all.

most ppl just get bigger rims, but smaller rubber to meet OEM specs

Wow some of you guys must be ballers....

Enjoy and learn the car in stock form first. Then I just want to drop it on some KW V3's or Bilsteins, complete front bumper replacement with hopefully a lower facia, save some money by reusing my current rims if they fit, breathing mods and tune thats it initially for mods.

Do we know this for sure on the 3.7? For the DE I know this was the case. But Ive seen the 3.5 HR's have been making good gains on bolt on and tune a la A.H. et al. So Im hopeful that Nissan left room for the tuners to exploit. Havent seen what the G37 guys are getting boltonwise though. Im gonna take a look at there forum later...

I'm talking 3.5, no one can answer for the 3.7 in the 370Z. But still the gain of just bolt on, just aren't worth it in my eyes! That includes financially also.

Basic bolt ons such as an intake, headers (not aware of any for the VQ 3.5 HR) and exhaust would be worth it. Combined together they increase performance and can increase fuel economy as well. I'd consider those three mods as they become available for the 370Z. I'm not sure I'd go further than that though, I doubt I'd get really hardcore and start messing with suspension, brakes, advancing timing, etc... etc...

Financially and HP wise, none of these basic mods may be worthwhile, but does allow for increased enjoyment and individuality for many. Out of the box though, the 370Z should be sufficient, but many simply want more.
