More practical than a Miata, but I feel the Miata would be more fun to drive (top down can work wonders for a connected feel to the road).

Agreed shado, I have a 2013 TT RS on order (3 months ago still waiting) for full duty sport and DD.

However im considering something else for DD (possibly BRZ)

Here is what my RS will look like sorry offtopic but i couldnt help it : )
