A rock punctured the condenser. I'll need a new one but it comes with a new radiator which is really expensive. We're just going to drive back to Dallas without A/C and begin a more detailed search for parts. Not good news but not horrible either.

Went to the beach today. Setup the umbrella, had the hotdogs and Pringles and read my Nook. I love lazy Sunday afternoons on the beach!

I did happen to get something interesting caught in the frame of one shot (somewhat intentionally)! :)

Didn't do anything with the Z, but saved my sister $500. Sears guy tried to lie and tell us she needed to replace her 2 rear tires (she brought it in because it had a leak and also wanted to check alignment). He lied to my face that the tires had hit the treadware warning lines (forget their technical name) and said they looked like they were falling apart while vaguely pointing towards the overall sidewall. He seemed pretty suspect to me and it's a good thing my sister brought me along. He quoted $500 something for 2 rear tires for her CR-V. I knew Costco would be cheaper if we even needed tires which I doubted so off to Costoco we went. The Sears guy never looked for a puncture either, just tried to sell us tires.

At Costco, the guy said the tires were fine and also that patching the tire would be free and we didn't even buy the tire from them.

The bottom line is that the Sears guy was a sleazy liar and my family will never to there again.

brucelidat 04-15-2012 06:30 PM

mr onzedge, since you are the foremost authority on all thread posts related to the PSS tires. Has anyone had them long enough to go through them yet and did they post how many miles they got out of them?

Money is meant to be spent. Im a spender not a saver. I earn it, I spend it. The cycle repeats.

I mentioned a while ago that I was going to get a mountain bike. I was going to get a cheap one but didn't like it, so I got one a little more expensive. I also dug out my old bike rack and used the S2000 to take it home. I also went grocery shopping with the S2000. It's my utility vehicle. :icon14:

I'm going to assume this is not covered? Well, I can then further assume you will likely not go OEM for a replacement, eh?

Not really. They are pretty much tapped out N/A. If you want more power it's best just to go FI.

Mine is stock and is gonna stay that way. Still super fun to drive.

Mr.Alchemy, glad to hear the issue for the brakes is solved and your Z is runny fine. BTW, did you adjust the alignment after the drop? Stock setting or you've changed it a bit?

  for you dude!!

Mr.dAvenue, hope you will find the part and get it fixed at minimum cost. :tiphat:

Good Evening Fellows. :hello: :hello:

After seeing all those mods talk recently, I am looking to start saving money for my next mod, I am thinking about upgrading the brakes since the one on my Z now is the base model brake, you know, CD-size with small caliper, to upgrade to BBK front and back will cost me around $4-$5k :icon14: :icon14:
Struggling between BBK and just disc&pads now.... :eekdance:

:icon17: :icon17:

Good evening mr.alcheng. I would keep eye open for used sport brakes for sale (calipers) and get new rotors and pads aftermarket.

Thank you Mr.kenchan. :tiphat:

Meanwhile I will lookup the parts locally too, cos the cost for S&H will be quite $$$ due to the weight. :ugh2:

Can't remember what my Stillen's are set but def not soft, you will be moving up a notch soon. Just curious what tires are you running and how does the entire package setup feel in the twisties and hitting pot holes in the middle of corners?

Hey buddy, how's your brother doing? He's been on my mind lately.

Scraped everywhere, even going down my driveway where I have never scraped before. Not sure if its due to it being stiffer or if the Konis dropped it slightly or a combination of both. Yes I am paired on Swifts and so far the combo feels very capable. I guess it was kind of a late xmas. They are parts I have been accumulating thru the winter. I will prob end up going to the stiff rear sway setting and stay soft or move to the middle in front. So far the Koni's on soft feel great. Any stiffer and I think I would encounter a lot of probs on the roads in my area. I will most likely bump them up very slightly, if at all, for DD. You def wont be disappointed with the Koni's. Well worth the money I paid. I was going thru familiar turns much faster than usual today and very comfortably at that. The capabilities of my Z in the twisties just increased considerably:tup:

Sounds good, thanks for the feedback. I heard the Koni's dropped 0.25 on swifts, so that could be the reason for scraping. I left mine on soft for DD with the Z33. Know now it's pretty much the consensus on the Z34. I am starting to to turn to the dark side (Koni). Will know more when I wring out Donald's on some twisties. I am betting though he will not let me go there. Have good evening and stop modding for awhile so you can get reacquainted with your NEW car...ha :tiphat:

Thanks for asking Mr. happytheman, it's a slow recovery process when the doctors reopen incisions that have not healed completely. The muscles are still sore around the ribs. Off the percacett and on Vicodin now. Has done some short drives to the market and really starting to get cabin fever. He knows not to overdue it, but on the other hand knows he needs to push himself a little. All in all in good spirits and an upbeat attitude. Thanks buddy, we really appreciate the warm thoughts. :tiphat:

Okay well the Z color change project is complete...for the most part. I will post some pictures within an hour or two. Been outside most of the day and just stopped by the site quickly before cleaning up. Overall I am happy with the Z's paint job although the finish quality is not up to a factory assembly line paint job and there are a few small spots at the tape lines were the original color is visible.

I've been gone for 4 days out of town, visiting my dad, step mom, and family on Long Island. The wife and I originally planned on visiting Philly, but news about my dad's being in the hospital changed those plans. He's okay now, after being under observation; he has to wear a defribulator for a month. Then, the docs will decide what to do for the long term.

Anyway, on the way to Long Island, and back to Rochester, I didn't see a single 370Z on the road! That's 700 miles of driving. However, I saw 2 300ZX's, 4 350Z's (I even accidentally parked by one in the hospital parking lot). Mostly, i saw the 350z's on LI. Where ARE WE??? I like being unique, but I want Nissan to keep making the cars!

Anyway, this trip gave me the first opportunity to test what the Z could do. It performed admirably. On some long straight stretches of Interstate 81 (speed limit 65), the Z hit 110 mph, if only briefly. I just wanted a taste. I backed off quickly. Didn't want to push my luck. Most times, I and some other leading cars were traveling at 80 mph, except of course when we were traveling on slower roads. I arrived home in record time ... 5 hrs, 16 minutes (355 miles). It was a fun ride today. VROOM! VROOM! :driving:

He's fine now, but he had a mild stroke that partially affected his vision in one eye. He says that it's improving. Thank God.
