I'm at the dealership for an A/C problem. While carving through canyons yesterday near San Antonio with a large group of Z's, something happened to the A/C. I found the issue after the group stopped for a quick cool-down and I noticed a green liquid pooled on top of the front lip. My guess is either a rock punctured it, or a hose, or a hose popped off during the run. Hopefully, the damage isn't extensive. Fingers crossed.

Also, I wanted to thank the guys who left the group to search for me after I lagged so far behind that I disappeared. I don't know your screen names, but I've seen your Z's before. Thank you so much for the encouragement and your help. Good dudes.

dAvenue, what's the dealer got to say about the a/c issue? In for an update! Hope it's a quick, cheap fix.

JARblue 04-15-2012 10:02 AM

Today, the Z is just getting a wash. Possibly some clay bar and wax, too, but that depends on how much work the yard needs.

This Z gets plenty of daily loving. We purchased it new in March 2011 and almost to 17K miles after 13 months. :driving:

A/C? or rad coolant? I didn't think A/C had colour to it.

Crap... don't let Mrs. LunaZ see this post or she'll be off her Abarth kick in a heartbeat.
I tried to put her in an STi, but she couldn't get past the lesbian stigma created by Subaru's "We're Just Girls" ad campaign that featured butchy female athletes.

Thanks Alchemy, that is the Chichen Itza, I went there about 2 yrs ago and it was a very very nice place to go, we stayed at Cancun for that trip, 7 days all inclusive.

The Mayan sites are a "must see"!!:tup:

Researching Valentine 1 vs. Passport 9500ix today. I'm leaning towards the Passport.

Mr.happytheman, will you look into the laser-jammer? I know some of them has jamming AND auto-off feature. More money but I think it can do a better job than those passive one, but I know they are illegal in some States.

Drove the Z to the Camarillo Outlet Mall today. It's the wife's birthday tomorrow so part of her birthday present is to have a shopping spree while I sit around and people watch. At least it gives me time to read the forums, lol.

Alchemy 04-15-2012 03:09 PM

Ok, so I got my brakes bled properly this morning and the car is up and running. Just as a refresher, these are the parts I installed....

Koni Yellows
Stillen Say Bars
StopTech slotted rotors
Project Mu Type NS pads
Z1 SS Brakelines
Motul RBF600 brake fluid

I was unable to swap my diff oil for Eneos 75w90 due to not having an allen wrench large enough for the plug. I will be swapping my engine oil and diff oil to Eneos the weekend prior to ZDAYZ.

As for driving impressions all I can say is WOW!!! Car feels amazing. I re-set my Konis this morning to full soft as per m4a1's suggestion for a starting point. I also set my sways to full soft as a starting point. The car is very stiff even at fully soft settings. Braking in the new pads and rotors was quite fun as well, I have never done a serious brake break-in:tup: Im beyond pleased.

Diggin the last three items on your laundry list. Gonna be there in a few. Keep us updated on the stoppies. Soooo the car is very stiff, let us know how the ride is after about 1k miles, ya know the placebo effects wears off and suspension settles. Very interested on those koni's...and if I recall you have them paired with swifts...right? Like I stated earlier, X-mas came late or your phat tax return came back...haha.

Lighting fires and smoking tires, or in your case, brakes. :tiphat:

Can't remember what my Stillen's are set but def not soft, you will be moving up a notch soon. Just curious what tires are you running and how does the entire package setup feel in the twisties and hitting pot holes in the middle of corners?

ZForce 04-15-2012 04:08 PM

Greetings Z Community, happy Sunday afternoon/evening to all. Is everybody looking forward to going back to work tomorrow? I am not, would rather be driving and I do not mean to work...haha

Well just putting around in a rental Versa while my NEW speedo cluster is being calibrated/programmed by a vendor in N.Y, it's under warranty with NNA. Oh...if anyone is interested NNA uses this vendor for ALL of their speedo calibrations. Must be a sweet contract for the vendor. It was ordered last Thurs and will not be avail until Weds.

Hopefully my Z's hood, roof and hatch are still in good shape after the 10 minute hail with bb size hail we got on Friday while it is sitting outside on the back lot of dealer. I am afraid to look, then again a new paint job from the insurance company would be noice - Zele Orange.

Well last night I took my lady out for dinner in my car. It was snowing/flurrying when I went out. The roads were clear and the snow wasn't sticking. When we left to go home it was dark and the roads were now very icy/snow covered. I have the 19inch sport tires on it and it made for an interesting ride home. At one point I got the bright idea to gas it to break the tires loose. Car went sideways ! I was able to correct it and we made it home safely

Its def more than placebo. Car is so much more tightened up after the Koni's and the sways. I just took a spin through a great section of road that runs along the Delaware near my house. Scraped everywhere, even going down my driveway where I have never scraped before. Not sure if its due to it being stiffer or if the Konis dropped it slightly or a combination of both. Yes I am paired on Swifts and so far the combo feels very capable. I guess it was kind of a late xmas. They are parts I have been accumulating thru the winter. I will prob end up going to the stiff rear sway setting and stay soft or move to the middle in front. So far the Koni's on soft feel great. Any stiffer and I think I would encounter a lot of probs on the roads in my area. I will most likely bump them up very slightly, if at all, for DD. You def wont be disappointed with the Koni's. Well worth the money I paid. I was going thru familiar turns much faster than usual today and very comfortably at that. The capabilities of my Z in the twisties just increased considerably:tup:

Alchemy 04-15-2012 04:50 PM
