Le sigh. I'm definitely coming next week (...if I'm back in N.Y. at the time )! Man, I couldn't go to a lot of the meets for the past year or so because of school, and now that I'm done, it seems like I still can't make it out to the meets :(

Nick911sc 03-08-2012 09:09 AM

It's ok, this is the first meet I've been to for a couple months now. Hopefully the weather will stay nice and we can get out there more. Glen Cove meets should be starting up soon I think. Those are the insane ones.

Fire 03-08-2012 09:15 AM

Rained today maybe able to get it out soon. :ughdance:

ZMan8 03-08-2012 09:38 AM

Good Morning everyone. It rained last night so no more salt on the roads. Howver it will be below freezing tonight hopefully they don't salt. Looks like this weekend may be the one!

dAvenue 03-08-2012 09:38 AM

Good morning everyone. It's a nice rainy day outside and I couldn't resist taking the Z to work because of that.

Hey man,

Curious to ask you. Are you happy with the Koni's + Springs or do you ever wonder how entry level coilovers would have been (BC or Stance)? That's my dilemma right now...

Do you care about performance or going low?

Nick911sc 03-08-2012 09:47 AM

performance

dAvenue 03-08-2012 09:58 AM

I'm happy with them, Nick. The ride quality is top-notch.

ZMan8 03-08-2012 10:47 AM

I also sometimes wonder about the better suspension set up:
Koni yellow + swifts or nice aftermarket coilovers (kw3, etc).

From what I read koni+swift is better than the cheaper coilover systems <$1200. Can anyone chime in?

Then there's no question to be asked on which option to go with in the sub-1200 range

I'm glad there's no question... But what's the answer? :icon17:

Alchemy and onzedge will be doing this setup sometime soon. I'm not aware of anyone else with Koni/Swift.

onzedge 03-08-2012 11:02 AM

I will be Koni/Swift within a week. I have been running Swifts with stock dampers for about 4 months and they do well. It should be even better with Konis -- set a bit firmer in front than rear.

kenchan 03-08-2012 11:26 AM

yep, mr.onzedge knows his stuff. firmer front setting is better.

kenchan 03-08-2012 11:30 AM

think im going to start ordering some detailing stuff for my cars this week. finally weatherbug is showing above freezing temps for low's next week. :D

also need to pickup DOT3 for my G. :)

NEWS FLASH!

Just in............ footage of mr. happytheman at Spring Break in Daytona:

Rock Center with Brian Williams - Spring Break 1962: Do you recognize anyone?

It's 30 minutes long, but the commercials are great and it's an interesting perspective on the generation that was about to fight the Vietnam war. If you can set aside some time to watch this, you'll enjoy the history/socialogy lesson. The "kids" are in their 70's now.

:tiphat:

I'm interested in a 275/305 setup, and if I'm not mistaken they don't make the Contis in 305. :(

I wonder if the road conditions in Jersey account for that??

Am I one of the rare few that's made it that far on stock shoes?

I feel old. In 62 I was a toddler in Japan.

happytheman 03-08-2012 12:37 PM

Wow! Japan? I'd love to go there! Did you grow up there, or were just passing through as a military brat?

Hey guys,

Back in the office. Stop ignoring which would be better cheap coilovers or the Konis+ swifts :p

Glen Cove Meets?

I was born in Glen Cove, and lived there until I was 5. What's crazy about the meets there? It'd be cool to go to a meet while visiting my folks on LI. :)
