Waiting for the local Z meet tonight.

Streetlife 03-07-2012 04:22 PM

Took her out for a nice 45 miles, break in period keeping her under 4K RPM, but still had a wonderful time! I have 110 miles on her now.:driving:

ZMan8 03-07-2012 04:28 PM

PWJDM is out of the SS knobs with the Red Base... and they have no eta for more.

It would have looked so nice with the red 40th interior.

Damn that blows, is there anyway they can send you the knob with a different base and then swap it later?

pretty sure that by the time i deploy the car will be a polished bare metal Z. These sand storms are freakin annoying.

Have a great cruise guys. I may have to use my Z as a DD for a couple days. I took my Titan in for some noise in the front end and it is a wheel bearing. Unfortunately my extended warranty company wants to look at it before paying for it. May take up to 2 days for them to get here. Hopefully I won't have to use it till it rains good and washes what salt is left off.:stirthepot:

Fire 03-07-2012 08:30 PM

Keep your Z's safe Tx peoples.

The red base is definitely cool in a 40th. (Sorry for the re-post),

No bear-poking or hornet's nest-disturbing or can of worms-opening intended.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport. The best tires I have ever had. No kidding. Great grip -- dry and wet -- and long lasting (so far).

True, they are not cheap. The way I look at it is that they will definitely go longer than the stock Bridgestones and outperfom most everything except for maybe the RE-11 or S04 Pole Position, maybe. I have 10,500 miles on them and still around 6 to 7/32" on the tread. I fully expect to go beyond 20,000.

happytheman 03-07-2012 10:45 PM

I'm at 25k on my stockers. :)

That's good to hear. Any track days at all? I'm hoping to get 20k out of mine and hoping the re-11s I plan to get afterwards will last a little longer than people report.

phillip2010Z 03-07-2012 11:52 PM

Debated on getting a aftermarket oil cooler after I just got her fluids changed at the dealership.

:iagree: with Mr.onzedge, otherwise, why not thinking about Continental DW?? I haven't driven with it but have a set coming for my 19, people who used them all say it is quieter than the OEM and it's a decent tires for DD.

:tiphat:

brucelidat 03-08-2012 12:10 AM

Wow, the Pilot Super Sports are pricey! Over $100 more for the set than re-11s! What are the pros for these over the RE-11s? I have been under the impression that those are tops for grip and performance (along with ad08s).

 I know. it sounds like BS, but it's the truth. The most wear I have is on the very inside edge, due to the slight factory neg camber.

No track days yet, but there's an opportunity to go driving on Daytona International Speedway that I might go for! :icon17:

happytheman 03-08-2012 06:21 AM

Wow! Went to bed, got up, fed the dogs, fixed the coffee and I'm still the first to post here this am!

Getting ready to slide her outta her warm bed and take her for a drive!
