I'll probably do a front lip in black and leave the fangs stock color (I like the color contrast between the black strip above the fangs, pg fangs and then black lip). At one time I was thinking of getting a rear diffuser.. But was sort of hesitant to just start putting parts on my car. I'm too indecisive... lol

yea, I saw those earlier haha

that fog lamp is pretty bright... sometimes annoying bright at night if lit all the time. it's very visible in foggy/down pour situations though. :)

I will be calling the city he lives in tomorrow and insisting that they pay for the damages since it was their fault for not smoothing out the street after recent repaving.

Update for those of you who remember this previous post.

I just received the check tonight from my insurance which should cover the repair for the damage and they have ruled it not my fault so my insurance will rate not be affected, I will end up not coming out of pocket at all for this repair since I have friends with bodyshops.

My insurance is also pursuing a claim with the city to get back my deductible so hopefully they can come through and I will actually make some money off this lol

Thanks Alcheng!

Lucky for me that I had an extra stock bumper to use so I didn't have to scramble for something else in the meantime.

Good morning all. :hello:

Just another day in Paradise. At least it looks like I'll get my first Friday of the year off (we work a 9/80 two week work period - every other Friday off). Since I've been averaging about 85 hours per week, I'm do a little R&R.

Have a good day everyone.

Drove my Z to work today  Man it felt good not to be driving my beater Explorer. Car is filthy. Went to the car wash on the way to work but the bays didnt accept debit cards, change only:( To top it off no atm either. My dirty car sits in the parking lot, shamefully displayed in front of work:facepalm:

Fire 03-07-2012 08:16 AM

Morning guys :tiphat: Alcheng I have a spoiler solutions rear wing and love it. I got mine in primer and had it painted flat black to match the rest of my body mods. I installed it myself and it wasn't hard. Congrats to those able to drive thier cars today.

Finished installed Kinetix Racing HFC's and a SS clutch line. (The tech helping me said it's the "cleanest" car he's ever seen - is he calling me OCD or does it mean something else? :) )

Morning peeps. I presumably fixed the whistling spoiler last night. I haven't test driven it yet, so it's very possible I fixed nothing. However, considering I am past due for some good luck, I'm doubling down on it.

kenchan 03-07-2012 09:52 AM

dAvenue- did you do anything to your oem spoiler to end up with this whistle?? i have no whistle on mine even with the Mine's cf lip.

Yeah, I realized the whistling began after I installed the Koni's. I remember lowering the car onto a stand but struggled with the jack's release bolt (it was pretty tight...like a virgin); so when I finally dominated the bolt, the car fell .25 inch onto the stand. Later, I heard a loose rattling in the hatch when closing it and removed the paneling to find the metallic culprit...hiding...laughing...like bolts do. I was like "WTF are you doing loose?". So I picked it up with my trusty magnetic pick-up tool, but I could not find where it belonged. So like a dummy, I ignored it.

Six weeks later, after driving myself crazy trying to identify the source of the noise, I began troubleshooting with painters tape. I taped off outside areas of the hatch to pinpoint the problematic area. Once I got to the spoiler, and taped it off, the noise was gone. Upon discovering this, I realized that the bolt from six weeks ago must belong to the spoiler. So I checked underneath with a flashlight and found an opening where the bolt used to be. I just bolted it back in last night.

huh, so you're going to ck torque on the other bolts/nuts too, right? shouldn't be loose like that. good work finding it.

kenchan 03-07-2012 10:41 AM

speaking of wind noise...i need to do some window creaking check in the master bedroom... was windy last night and each time a gust came, the window creaked. it sounded like an infant crying. so i'd wake up thinking my kid was crying... but even my youngest is a toddler so doesnt cry like that.. over and over again through out the night. messed up my head. :icon14: lol couldn't get much sleep.

I gave the other bolts a good beating for allowing the other one to slip like that.
