Sunny and +7c in Toronto, drive my Z to work today!! Yeah!!! :happydance:

Was driving happily on my way crusing 130km/h and all the sudden I felt the shift-knob became loose..... :eekdance:

The 3 set-screws that hold the shift-knob in place got loosen..... :ugh2:

Anyway, just went to the car and get it tighten and found out something really nice!!! :icon17:

If you guys had read my post about installing the shift knob you might remember I did a trick to the plastic-ring that attach to the shift-boot, and I just found out that plastic ring can snap onto the tread of the MOMO shift-knob!!

So, the shift-boot is now directly attached to the shift-knob!

Here is a pic, looks much better now!! :happydance:

VERY NICE!! Great fit and finish:tup:

Mr.kenchan, yes, this is the first time I stretch the Z since the intake and the removal of the clutch-sping!!

The sucking sound is more obvious than the 'test drive' last week between 3k-5k rpm and it pulls smoothly   Worth the $$$, LOL

Mr.Fire, Seems the ZL1 is fast, but the production is slow...Don't worry, people pays $250k for a Ferrari and have to wait for 12 months, compare to them, GM is doing a VERY VERY good job :ugh2:

How'd you know?!! :p

That intake looks awesome! SRI are very taboo for me on the Z. I would buy the R2C in a heartbeat, but other than throttle response I think people see a loss in power? IDK WHAT TO DO.... I don't want long tube intakes though

ZMan8 03-02-2012 03:40 PM

Mr. Alcheng please provide a mini review of the intake. Where is most noticable gain?

Yea most likely. But my problem is I WANT the R2C's to be good. haha You know what I mean? MAF + drop in's is sort of middle of the road.

R2C'are good too. i had them last year but sold. it has nice gains as far as response, but cai's in general were too noisy for me so i went with the HPS/K&N drop-ins setup. i might go back to stock tubes and just run K&N drop-ins. nothing wrong with the HPS, i dont sense any gains from the tubes alone so i rather have factory bits in this case.

I actually had GenIII sitting in my garage a week ago, but after 2 months of thinking i decided to allocated the $500 towards other parts first. So i Sold them

i c! :D yah, honestly speaking i think the K&N drop-in approach should be more than adequate. even the amuse 350Z track car used stock intake box/tubes... the post-MAF is cool to look at but i doubt it has any performance benefits.

nick you want mine? :icon17:

yah, they do look good. but then again, it's noisy especially at high RPM... :icon17: the car sounds so much smooooother with stock tubes and box. that's how i like mine.

they can handle quite a bit of beating.. like over 100N force of torque...

Fire 03-02-2012 04:54 PM

You are Mr Smoooth Kenman. :tiphat:
Let me try to explain my issues with the ZL1. It is not how long it takes to get one. My issue is that I have no proof that even though I have put $2000 down and my financing is fine that I have a car ordered. The dealers where given only a certain # of allocations for ZL1's. From what I've heard not all dealers received an allocation. I don't know if my dealer even has an allocation to use. If they do not then they actually cannot order my car. The dealer has thus far been unable or unwilling to give me an order #. GM Connects.com is an on line tracking service and they have said that there is absolutely no reason for a dealer to withhold the order# if in fact they ordered a vehicle for you. Getting back to the time it takes to receive a car, I've learned that nobody is taking delivery till probably March 23rd. Sorry for the long winded post but this is what is going on and why I'm really upset over this. :argue:

kenchan 03-02-2012 04:56 PM

Fire- tell your GM contact bakayaro. :icon17:

Fire 03-02-2012 04:58 PM

What is bakayaro Kenman? LOL I can say that I love my H&R hubs and that unless those other ones are significantly lighter I would go with the H&R.

Fire 03-02-2012 05:14 PM

Alchemy as long as you have a good torque wrench you have nothing to worry about. You don't even need a torque wrench if you live near where the dealer or you tire/suspension shop is.

Fire 03-02-2012 05:18 PM

Alchemy I don't think it is a Chevy issue as much as a dealer issue.
