2) Yup, that boot ain't going' NOWHERE! 3) I didn't bother with the Loc Tite. I just cranked the knob down as far as it would go and it was perfect! I know a couple of others didn't bother with the Loc Tite either. :icon17: if you do choose to use it, just put a strip of it down one side of the threads. It's not necessary to coat all the threads. |
Appreciate the response!
Now I just need to wait for that sucker to arrive! |
Ordered my ARK exhaust yesterday... now I impatiently wait.

im currently running K&N drop-ins. :) |

No fear of the K&N mucking up anything? I also wish R2C was more active with our car. |

people tend to use waaaay too much oil after cleaning... you really only need to spray the filter lightly after cleaning. under most conditions one can go 50k miles without cleaning from wat i've read so i dont foresee myself cleaning mine any time soon... yah, R2C's got a nice team too, very friendly. |
For now let me focus on the new knob. Probably plastidip rear diffuser Then...rear fog, MAF Tubes, Drop in Filters, front splitter.... Sleeping on the couch.. Errr I mean... :p

Do us all a favor and do some testing on the Cosworths! |
Alright guys, I'm going to get some sleep. Gotta wake up early to work out before I head into the office. Hopefully I can sleep tonight:driving:
|
Oh yeah, gotta picks me up some Dr. Colorchip.

Otherwise, I would be happy to do a mod-by-mod dyno thing on the Z1 hoses and Cosworths vs. K&N's. I'm not trying to blow the filters out the door, and they will keep just fine until either you make up your mind, or someone else buys 'em, it's all good! |

Alright, got the shift knob done. I had no luck trying to keep the OEM from being damaged while un-screwing it from the shaft. :ugh2:
I think NISSAN is just trying to tell all of us Shift-Knob-Maniac that changing the knob is a no-return thing, you better get the new one fit!! LOL Anyway, just a tip for those who will get a MOMO in the future. Since the MOMO knob is universal fit, it doesn't come with a base like the one from PWJDM, and when putting the MOMO knob on the top of the shift boot, it fits very awkward because the plastic ring under the opening of the boot, because the plastic ring is flat and the diameter is much bigger than the MOMO knob, it makes the shift knob looks like sitting on a flat-platform. So, I took off the shift boot, and found out the other side of the plastic ring is actually concave instead of flat, and it was attached to the shift-boot by cable-tie. Simple step, cut the cable-tie, flip the plastic ring and tie it back onto the shift-boot with a new cable-tie, the concave side of the ring fits perfectly with the shape of the base ring of the MOMO. After finish the shift knob, I was, "tools are all here... mmm, clutch-spring...." Yup, remove that as well!!  I didn't have a chance to test drive the Z cause the snow and wet-road outside, but yes, you guys are right, now I can feel the clutch point!! Pics: (Sorry about the blur, VERY VERY LOW LIGHT, I took the shot with only the interior lights on, garage lights all off, ISO was at 1600, f/2.8 with 1/2 sec, hand held) |

I think is sat on my knobs for like a week before getting around to putting them on. :) Pretty good looking pics too, considering the low light situation. |
Don't feed the troll. :wtf2:

I am torn on the spring issue. I have found that by wearing my Piloti driving shoes, the clutch in my car is NOT bad at all. I like it and it does just fine. Even wearing my Mizuno's to the gym it wasn't bad. I am almost wondering if 2012 saw a clutch revision, as I remember bitching very loudly about how it felt in all of the <2011's I drove.

Momo looks good!

It's sleepy time. G'night Mr. Onzedge, Nick, Kenchan, Alcheng, Zman8 and Import Convert. :hello:
