Ex Marine jet mech. I was stationed at Cherry Point NC. I'm at the fire hall we've had multiple MVA's today and getting the guys coffee and called to get hot food.

It was a nice day out, so I finally got a chance to wash it (after 3000 miles and many rainstorms). I had forgotten it was this color :D

Took it for a short drive and took some pics:

Turns out I need those new tires more than I thought..

Attachment 40261Attachment 40262

The front's are still OK. How many miles do the the stock tires usually last? These will be 14K.

14,000 on the rears was about what I got. I still had plenty on the fronts, but replaced all 4 anyway. I was actually able to sell my fronts on craigslist also. I hate throwing away stuff that has useful life remaining.

BTW: Sharp looking Z.

They seem to be rare, but they are still out there. Good luck with your search, as that is most important. I had a great one that treated my car like it was his own, then I moved. I think I have one here, but only time will tell with my next project.

happytheman 01-28-2012 11:38 PM

What method did you use to determine whether one shop was better than another?

Fire 01-29-2012 12:00 AM

Hey Happy I wonder if those where the ones I sent back? They didn't fit my vert. I still haven't heard if anybody has been able to use them on a vert. As far as finding a shop good luck I haven't found much around me.:shakes head:

Fire 01-29-2012 12:26 AM

daemon you will love the evo-r blades I do:happydance: The only thing I'm going to do is plasti dip the first few inches behind the front wheelwell as they get sandblasted esp. with the wheel spacers.:ugh2:

yes.:hello:

Fire 01-29-2012 12:13 PM

Man I wish I could find a fellow vert here that has tried to use them.

Fire 01-29-2012 12:20 PM

Incase you haven't followed my issue. I orderd the stillen sides and they had a fitment issue just behind the door. Stillen says that they fit. I think that the vert might have a small amount of stiffening behind the door. Nobody has been able to say if I am right or not. Nobody else has tried to put stillen sides on thier vert:confused:

Fire 01-29-2012 12:25 PM

Please don't get me wrong I'm not in any way putting down Stillen. I have alot of stillen bought stuff on my car and look to buy a set of Gstop braided steal brake lines very soon from them. And I haven't discarded them for my SC plans for the future :yum:

Mine fit good except by the front door and fender I had to modify the rocker so the body line matched the door,it was like that on both sides.

Fire 01-29-2012 12:48 PM

Glad things worked out.

Fire 01-29-2012 12:54 PM

Once my taxes come in I'm going to send my calipers to thepowdercoater. Getting them done in body color red and black NISSAN. Also ordering SS Gstop brake lines.

He has a great reputation here and he quickly replied to my e-mails. The price seems right also.

Wired up my rear fog light switch yesterday and gave the Z a much needed bath and detailing today. I love it when the Z is clean.

I tapped into the wires at the BCM that run to the steering wheel stalks for controlling the fog light. I used this DIY that Spearfish wrote up. It worked pefectly and was pretty easy.

http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...ck-wiring.html

kenchan 01-29-2012 04:37 PM

that's cool. werd is my Z did NOT come pre-wired so i just ran new wires. also with the steering-lock issue id rather not tamper with the BCM at least for the time being. :)
