so im wondering how mr.onzedge is doing with his Z getting all fixed up. :D

IMWEZL 02-06-2012 07:03 PM

Bought two replacement 305/30 RE11's from Costco for less than $800.
I love these tires but gotdamn they're expensive!

370ZilverZ 02-06-2012 07:07 PM

Completed installing Dynamat in the hatch area. It made a world of difference. The road debris is hardly noticeable, yet the exhaust can be heard just like no change at all.
Pics in my journal.

Thanks  yep my buddy works at a well known garage just down the road from me, he's actually fairly high up the chain and got me $20 off the alignment and $10 off the oil change (I'm a regular customer with both my cars which helps). Not only that but my other buddy who was doing the actual work on the car adjusted my rear wheal angle for free which is normally a $50 charge.

The negative was that he noticed some of the Nissan cheap paint orange-peel problem on my front quarter panels, and he also noticed a bubble in one of my front tires. It's not too bad yet but I'm keeping an eye on it.

Me too. Wait, that's me.

Anyway, the lock is good and functional. So far, so good.

The dent, though. Hmm... I may just live with it. The headliner needs to come out just for the paintless dent fixer guy to be able to tell if it is fixable or not. $220 for a headliner R&R. I ahve a guy ZForce has used and I think I may have him look at it.

The thing is very small but it bugs me.

I thought Mr.onzedge might disappear for 3 days driving the Z to fulfill his 3 weeks hunger.

Watched a show on the most dangerous roads and they had the Tail of the Dragon. One guy has a GTR that he films people from. Looking forward to the ZDayZ this year. :driving:

sounds good on the hook ups. the orange peel is actually good to have if your car is a dd as it makes it easier to hide dings when PDR guy does the repair. :) i would leave it. the bubble..yah, you'd better replace that tire soon.

 on the steering-lock. :D congrats. hummmm on the headliner. i would open the door, pull out the weather strip and see if you can shine a light all the way below your ding. if so, should be no issue to push out. there might be some glue used but that too, there are tools PDR guys have to remove the glue. afterwards they will use some 3M mounting adhesive or silicon glue.

i would definitely NOT remove the entire headliner just to do the ding. :)

worst case the guy can use the glue puller if there is no access from the back.

Mt Tam I am 02-06-2012 08:30 PM

I had the road to myself, VDC off, came around a hairpin expecting to punch it when I saw a poorly marked police car. I crept past and saw a motorcycle signaling cop ahead and I too did the same. Sure enough just ahead was another one of those poorly marked cop cars.

When will these cops figure out, I don't want one of their tickets.

Fire 02-06-2012 09:18 PM

LOL Mt Tam you should have a bumper sticker made "Thanks but no thanks to tickets" I'm sure a radar detector would help ya too. I'm always worried about tickets cause my DD has a roof mounted red light but I have nothing on my car to identify me as a fire chief. As a professional courtesy police generally won't pull over a fire chief for minor speed infractions. :eekdance:

Fire 02-06-2012 09:29 PM

Daemon where those stripes custom made? Are they dark grey or black? They look a bit grey in the pics. I like them and think they look nice on your car.

370ZilverZ 02-06-2012 09:40 PM

Thanks. They are matte black. They are custom made found on eBay.

I can't stay away from the forum. It's part of my disease. I am powerless over the forum and my life has become unmanageable.

Me: "My name is Donald and I am a forum-post-aholic. I haven't posted in 2 hours."

Everyone: "Hi Donald! Keep coming back, brother".

Thanks for the comments. Very helpful, Mr. Kenchan (or whoever you are).

Onze I see you have picked up on the "questionable" past of one Kenman. He seems very illusive as he posts thousands of times on here trying to throw people off his trail. My Sushi secrets will not be revealed to him.:wtf2: Oh and Onze I'm sure you will be able to overcome your addiction. There is a 25 step program for it. Unfortunatelly Ken is incharge of it.

yeah they were $330 a piece, $28 each for mount and balance and an 8.5% SC tax

Funny thing I never noticed SC sales tax was 8.5% until now.

hahahaha, yah, tax does make a punch as the price gets bigger and bigger. :D

hey, a member here FIXED his RevB lock. he took it apart and fixed the gear assembly that was seized. nissan's 'application of too much oil' is a bunch of BS. they have no production control. :eekdance: he gave me permission to post his message on my DIY. scroll to the bottom.

anyway, im definitely going to fix mine when it fails. i will keep swapping it back and forth between my RevC and RevB. lol :D

It's one day at a time, my brother. Keep coming back -- it works when you work it. There are many others who will share their experience, strength and hope with you so that you may recover from your disease.

What I did with my Z today was go outside and appreciate the fact that its not the "refreshed" 2013 model. What a fail. No power bump that the aging 350 got. I totally disagree with the removal of the fangs, I feel they are what distinguished the car and gave it character. That was the 370 "look". Now it looks like a 350. The LEDs look terrible as well. They also took a nicely desiged wheel and made it look like poop. I dont get it. Im almost ashamed. The only thing I like is that the fuel gauge is black ( not hard to do yourself) and the calipers are red (again, not hard to do yourself) thanks Nissan :ugh2: Way to stay competitive. Meanwhile Ford is killing it with the Mustang and I gotta hear about it all day on here!!

onzedge 02-07-2012 04:10 PM

Don't fret over the 2013 Z everyone. There's always hope, even in the most hopeless times.

yah, the only thing i liked about the 2013 is the black fuel gauge too. i was hoping they would have factory installed bits like brake ducts and stuff that could be retro-fitted onto our cars.

im not feeling the 2013 at all. :ugh2:

alcheng 02-07-2012 04:36 PM

Good late-afternoon my Z fellows!!

Such a busy day, I am still at work but only have time now to post.

so much noise does the 2013Z has drawn, LOL, much noisier than its VQ37 :icon18:

Me too not sure about the LED on the bumper, but I like the new front, I feel the new version is not as 'round' on the front and the hatch, point it out if I am wrong. The new rims..... :ughdance: (happy dance for NISSAN but in doubt)

kenchan 02-07-2012 04:44 PM

mr.alcheng - hello! yah, i think the new front appears too tall (lifted) too.... and i really dont like LED's. it's like altezza-euro-tails that were popular back in the early 2000's. everybody had them. ugly too.

I agree. It seems none of the manufacturers listen to what the enthusists are asking for. A TT option, black fuel gauge, ducting and dash LED color options aren't much to ask for. Why go back to a 350Z look, when the 370 is such an improvement IMO.

happytheman 02-07-2012 09:04 PM

Whoa!

Taurus' with smoking tires, charburgers, cheeze fries, addiction counseling (thanks Onzedge), sweet looking clean yellow Z's, Zip cars in the rain, Forum-post-holics (be well Onzedge!), yummy Ramen noodles as a potential addiction substitute, aggravating roof dings (sorry Onzedge), Kenchan questionable past and intentions, Z Papparazi, 25 step programs that include three hour power naps, suicide hotlines, fixed steering wheel lock (congrats Onzedge) and matte black ebay muscle car stripes! All that AND a free rear tire angle adjustment??!!

I....can't....keep...track...of...it...all!
