Well, I am all caught up on the forum and am going to head to the garage to start my Invidia Gemini install. Wish me luck.

Hmm, yeah. I just checked on Tire Rack's website and they dont list the 245/35 19 as an option for the Conti DW.

Ken-San, what size are your Contis?

ZScr3am 03-20-2012 08:33 PM

I just realized when I posted this that it looks like a few LED's are out, but when I hit the brake it looks fully illuminated. Is it suppose to look like that?

ZScr3am 03-20-2012 08:35 PM

Thanks bro. Good luck on the install. I installed my F.I. in about 2 hours without a lift and had to run to the local auto house to pick up something. You should be good bro!!

What wiring approach did you take with the rear fog lamp?

Umm -- did anyone at Bridgestone think through using a crash-test dummy for a mascot?

Well, looks like the Z is already sold. So I may be bumping up the aquiring of a 240Z a bit quicker. I expected it to take a little longer to sell but I'm not complaining.

And this is the exact same question I have. Seems that everyone tends to go a different direction with them. :)

ZMan8 03-21-2012 12:08 AM

Yeah I think most people wire them to the brake lights so that when you hit the brakes it lights up.

I like the version where you can wire it to the already prewired system and make a switch/buy new turn signal switch

^^^This is the way to go in my opinion.

happytheman 03-21-2012 12:14 AM

Meh, I'd like to have it flash when braking and reversing, otherwise off. I haven't yet seen anyone else do it that way.

ZScr3am 03-21-2012 12:15 AM

That is what I did. I just wired it up to blink when I hit the break. I didn't have any problems it just seems easier that way. Plus I am an impatient man with fat fingers. Dealing with the little 24 gauge wire sucks!!! I will need some patience tomorrow however when I tackle my HFC.

happytheman 03-21-2012 12:16 AM

Any thoughts on how to wire it to blink on brake and reverse? :)

ZScr3am 03-21-2012 12:22 AM

Yeah all u have to do is tap into both the red and orange wires. I thought about doing that, but my reverse lights are so bright the blinking light will just confuse people!

Do you have a 240 selected?

Seems too easy. :) Nothing is ever that simple (especially when it comes to electrical goodies)! :shakes head:

Thanks -- I just picked up a re-mastered version of the album (along with some nice live goodies and demo versions). I almost forgot how good it is. Everyone raves about Dark Side of the Moon -- which is phenomenal, but Wish You Were Here is great as well.

I think the biggest things that caused me to not consider the 295/30 route is that the miminum wheel width listed was a 10.5". The stock Rays are 10". Also, Kenchan mentioned that the Z would look lifted. Considering that I have the stock suspension, I can't afford to appear to have more wheel gap than i already do.

As you can see I'm majorly torn over this dilemma, and I've thought long and hard over it. I sure wish I could see some Zs with 295s on it, stock Rays and stock height. :(

That the bead protection seems to be sufficent as far as I can tell.

I also went with stock sizes. I didn't think that it would be wise to put those 295 tires on stock Rays. I like my Rays so I decided to stick with the stock sizes and not have the possibility of changing the handling characteristics of my Z.

happytheman 03-21-2012 01:49 AM

Ah ok, thanks for clarifying.
