Alcheng - It seems all the other industries are slacking and need to get themselves similarly awesome mascots as well don't you think?
Ok, off to bed with me! Good night my fellow Z-ers. :hello: |

What happen is LEDs are just like other kinds of electric light source, it flashes at a very high frequency which is too fast for human eyes to see, therefore we see it as a solid. However, when using a camera/video-cam to shoot it, the speed of the shutter sometimes is faster than the flash-rate of the LEDs, therefore the camera will 'catch' the moment when some of the LEDs is 'off'. Another example is if you video shoot an old CRT TV, you will see a black-line going from top to bottom on the screen in the video, it is the same idea. To make sure you understand, take a look at the video, right from the beginning the first 10s, the LEDs on the headlight are 'flashing', in real life, you won't see the 'flashing' but the camera caught it because the shutter speed was faster than the flash-rate of the LEDs. Same thing at 0:53 to 0:58, then 3:59 for 2 seconds. Your LEDs are absolutely fine... note: the 'flashing' in this post means high-frequency of on-off illumination of the LEDs, NOT the kind of "flashing" you get from a flat-drunk chic. |

Since I could never get a definitive answer, I just went the solid brake light route. It's like the front license plate debate - some folks have gone years without ever getting pulled over for no plate, and others seem to collect tickets. It's easier to just say "WTF" and goose step with the lemmings. Good Morning All! :hello: |

Thanks alcheng I appreciate the schooling that puts me at ease. As far as the light being legal it is not a moving violation so they will just make u change it.

Oh I very nearly forgot: Good morning everyone. Getting a bit of a late start this morning due to a scheduled downtime at work last night. :hello: I must again say how nice it is to cruise the streets at 2:30am when no one is about, except for the damn deer that come close to the road! Those guys freak me the fark out when I come 'round a bend and they're right next to it! |
Good morning to all!

Like the license plate debate here in Texas, yeah, you eventually would probably win, but I'm not interested in being the test case. |

Posting is an addiction. I've gotten worse (or better, depending on your view) as time has gone on! If I have any spare time on my hands, I'm posting here. I have to think tho: I have valuable little spare time compared to the likes of Ken-San and Mr. Onzedge! :rofl2:

Putting new tires & rims on now. :excited: |
Drove the Z to work today. On the way, I spotted a mustang with stripes (I forgot its primary color), and in front of him was a silver 350Z. Both were in the left lane, turning left, while I was in the right lane, also turning left. When I exited my turn, I pulled up alongside the mustang, and peered over at the driver. He glanced over in my direction, and hit the gas for a short burst of acceleration, and then slowed quickly, because traffic was a little tight, and most of the lead cars had stopped at the approaching traffic light. I moved to the left lane behind the stang so that the two of us Z owners sandwiched the stang. After a short while, I moved back to the right lane, because I saw an opening where I could get alongside the 350, and give him a thumbs up. I did, but I wasn't sure whether he saw me, and I couldn't slow down with traffic behind me. It was a cool encounter, and the weather was gorgeous this morning, and it will be for the rest of the day -- sunny, 55 to 77 degrees F.
When I reached work, a fellow employee commented about how my Z is the hottest car in the parking lot. I'd say, the hottest in the county! Anyway, he mentioned his new Lexus, and how he had never owned a luxury car before. I mentioned that I thought about buying a Lexus IS 250c, but that I changed my mind, and returned to my roots -- a Z. He agreed that that was the better choice. His Lexus is a fine car, and I'm sure that he's happy with it. That's the important thing. Anyway, it was a good morning. :driving: |
Gotta love morning drives like that!

Well I installed my HFC today and let me tell you that freakin demon bolt or should I say bolts on the top driver side cat really pissed me off not to mention slowed me way down!!!! :shakes head: Then I started her up and heard this hissing sound. Didn't know what that was thought I had a leak and the guys at the shop had no idea either because they have never installed a F.I. and Berk setup before! Then I called Tony at F.I. which is an awesome guy!! He said don't worry bout it as long as it only happens on deceleration you are good. That is just the first 2 hours of my day!:happydance:

You guys make me jealous with all this modding. I just have parts stacking up and no car to put them on!! Glad tony was able to help you out! ^

I ran some errands today. Went to fill up the Z after using up the gas that sat in it over winter. Turns out the price of gas jumped 10¢/liter over night. I only put $40 in, didn't even hit half a tank. I'll fill up next week when the price drops to more reasonable levels.
http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6058/6...fb84b307_c.jpg It's a gas by J M Gale, on Flickr I'm lucky, in my town gas is usually 10-15¢/liter cheaper than the big city... When people ask why our gas is cheaper than everywhere else, I tell them our town is a gated community. :bowrofl: |
