Night Fire!!! :tiphat:

Berk CBE is sounding good. However, I noted resonance at 3700rpm under 3/4 throttle in 2nd and 3rd and 4th gears.

A bit of trial/error brought to my attention that it was the glove box, specifically, the huge fat stack of owner's manuals and tire-lock in it. I removed them to the compartment behind the passenger's seat, and the issue is gone. It now pulls through the revs as far as I am taking it at this point of break-in without any vibration. It's a nice exhaust, does what I want, and looks great. Car felt a bit peppier after installation.

I bet it did Import! I know mine has been pulling nicely through the gears! Areas that I had felt hesitation in before have smoothed right out! :)

ImportConvert 03-01-2012 10:58 PM

Yep, fit and sound are very good. I am glad I did this. It makes the car very docile under 3K rpm, and an animal above that under moderate or heavier throttle. I like it. I just wish I could find an "active" exhaust like was on my Z06, but that's probably not available in this price-bracket. This Berk CBE is almost as good at that, though. Very nice for cruising. There is a SLIGHT SLIGHT bit of low frequency noise at a sustained 1900rpm in 6th, but I am not cruising at 55, so I don't care, and it's not bad, either. I would not call it drone. Just a frequency I am not fond of. It is only heard, not felt.

Good morning Mr. Happy. :tiphat: I get to go home today, finally. Week-long business trips are not my favorite.

gurneyeagle 03-02-2012 06:38 AM

Good Morning Mr. Happy and all the other Z early risers! :hello:

Looks like it was just the tire that was damaged by my infamous pot hole battle; the rim appears to be doing fine. I've just got to get an alignment, and I'll be good to go.

Looking forward to this weekend; there are two Coffee and Car events - Houston and The Woodlands charitable event. I'll take some better pictures of the new CarbonSignal ducktail too. That thing is awesome. I've actually gotten compliments from non-car people here at the office.

Looking forward to getting out and doing some non-commuting crawl driving.

Have a great weekend all.

happytheman 03-02-2012 06:41 AM

I don't blame you. A couple of days is ok, but more than that? Nah. Not for me. I'm sure you're looking forward to seeing the Mrs. and your boys! :)

Yeah. I hate to admit it, but I get very homesick when I am gone more than a few days.

happytheman 03-02-2012 06:42 AM

Oh nice Gurney! I'm so happy to hear that! It could have been a pricey replacement. :( def in for more pics of the duck!

Morning peeps..

Fire 03-02-2012 09:12 AM

Just had my large mug. Happy Fri to you.

Srenity 03-02-2012 09:13 AM

Good morning Z people. Long time since I have had any Z action with vacation and all. Will be doing some wrenching on the Z this weekend. The day before I left on vacation I "finished" up my ART pipe install. During testing I had an exhaust leak at the Demon bolt location. I need to take the drivers side off and reseal it.

Fire 03-02-2012 09:16 AM

Does not sound like fun but good luck. :tiphat: I haven't done anything to the exhaust because it is supposed to be covered on my bumper to bumper.

Bucketlist2012 03-02-2012 09:21 AM

I have had my coffee, and as the Newbie, I will try not to be stupid...Don't bet on it..

Happy Friday, still haven't really driven the 370Z day...

But I have all weekend with no rain.....Finally.

More coffee...

Fire 03-02-2012 09:25 AM

TheGreatOne 03-02-2012 09:27 AM

I know...You would think trading in a paid for 13,000 Car for a 33,000 dollar car of her dreams, Color, Wheels, Interior, Stereo,...without opening her purse would be enough..

See I told you, third post and i am saying stupid stuff already...You should have bet..

Forget the upgraded kitchen....That is 2 months old now..Old news..

After she watched me hemmorage money on the Z/28. I told her, hello, Bucket Lists are not cheap...

No she is my soul mate , I just like busting her snatch...

Fire 03-02-2012 09:29 AM

Fire 03-02-2012 09:31 AM

We have the Big Pickup for driving in the rain...Sits high up and 6600 pounds empty.. Thick treaded tires..2 wheel drive F150.

Funny, i have three vehicles, but when it rains, we are down to one...

Hehe, thats true...I have posted here and there, but I'll feel better when my butt is actually in the seats lol.

I did finish my key fob, so being one of my first times using real 2x2 twill Carbon Fiber..came out pretty good I think...

Yep, always need the truck for things..

It's perfect. My wife puts tons of miles on the Truck, and then gets in the Z car to do all her other stuff...

I will always have a Truck, a Modern Sport car, and the Crazy, insane Z/28...

Not much more. The extra registration and insurance doesn't justify another toy..

But how many do I need ? Oh No...Second stupid thing i have said...A collection would be nice..
