Yah I guess stock 19" wheels are ET47 Front and ET30 Rear. I'm mtrying to chew on this a bit tho: the distance between the center of the wheel to the mounting point.

I've got more reading to do! :icon17:

Offset = (0.5 x wheel width) - the distance from the mounting surface to the rim edge.

hope this helps

happy- wat zman said.

are you on stock 19's? if so, a clean look at stock height is 15mm bolt-replacement type spacers front and rear. some folks like 10mm on the rear.

for a more aggressive look people use 20mm all around... or if lowered 20mm/25mm bolt-on spacer setup.

so you got:
ET47 (stock) - 15mm stud replacement spacers = ET32 for front
ET30 (stock) - 15mm stud replacement or bolt-on spacers= ET15 for rear

hope this helps. :)

ZMan8 03-13-2012 10:20 PM

I read (can't find thread) the hubcentric lip on the eibach spacers is .1 mm different then H&R. Anyone have input on this?

Fire 03-13-2012 10:24 PM

If you take 1/3 the distance from top of wheel to fender and factor in the ground clearance from the front bumper to the ground and measure the roof to the ground you get? Numbers. And confused. :stirthepot: Did that help Happy?

Fire 03-13-2012 10:26 PM

Kenman subscribe to a sushi of the month club with the $200.:ughdance:

happytheman 03-13-2012 10:29 PM

I thought I had it, then Fire FUBARed everything! :rofl2:

Yes, I'm on stock 19's, and this information did help! Thanks so much!

I am wondering though...Does the width of the tire have much play when adding spacers if at stock height? I'm about to add a 275/305 setup and had been thinking about a 10/15 or 15/20 spacer setup.

Fire 03-13-2012 10:29 PM

I'd just go by my man Ken's recomendations. Glad I could help LOL.

So then the rear 19" (non-Nismo) distance from mounting surface to the rim edge is 3.82 (inches?). Do I have that right?

really? i have both eibach and H&R bolt-on spacers in my parts bin and they are pretty much the same diameter on the lip. both work fine on the car. ive yet to read eibach's or kics's lips sheering off like H&R though.

$200 will only buy decent sushi for two. although, ive been treated to sushi in Ginza which can cost about $350+ per person... if you're an arse they will charge you more especially if you arrive with a cute girl. :icon17:

np. yah, if you're going to do wider tires you'll want to stick with conservative offsets unless you plan on lowering your car. the wider the tires get the blockier the shoulders will look and it will make your car look lifted. im not a big fan of beefy looking tires on narrow wheels.. the sidewalls get sloppy too. i'd stick with stock sizes on the sport 19's...maybe do 285/35/19 instead of 275/35/19 on the rear max.

if you dont plan on lowering your car, keep the profile of the sidewall kinda tall. for example dont do 285/30/19 just because you went from 275/35/19.

sidewall is the % of the width of tire in mm. so for example

275/35/19 or 275mm x0.35 = 96.3mm height sidewall
285/30/19 or 285mm x0.30 = 85.5mm height sidewall (too short imo).
285/35/19 or 285mm x0.35 = 99.78mm height sidewall (closer to original)

i dont know why in the hell they use metric for width, yet inches for diameter. lol :icon17:

yah, there was at least one member here that had this problem. ive seen this happen before on other forum where their car ran hubcentric wheels like the stock 19's. the stock wheels rely on the metal lip to keep the wheel centered. the lugs only hold the wheel to the hub.

aftermarket wheels are often times lug-centric so it only uses the hubcentric lip as an aid to when mounting the wheels onto the car. the wheels are centered onto the hub by the lugs. you dont even need to run hubcentric rings on these wheels unles you get vibration due to poor design of wheel or improper installation.

the kics and ichiba's have a separate centering-ring lip and while not as distortion-free or stable as the H&R/Eibachs which is part of the spacer, the separate centering-ring has some 'give' to move around when there is high load on that lip. so ive yet to see any posts about kics/ichiba's breaking. :)

The only time I wear a suit is while on a cruise. I would not go into a rest that required a jacket anyplace else. I think they are very pretentious. I'm a sweats and t-shirt person. Don't feel I need to dress up to spend my money.:stirthepot:

Fire 03-13-2012 11:14 PM

On the cruise the steakhouse only costs $25 per person more and they have a 6 course meal. Takes 2 hours to eat and everything is over the top.:ughdance:

Fire 03-13-2012 11:15 PM

The kobe was more than $600 a person or more than $100 a person? When I was in in Osaka I just was at the airport for my flight leaving the country after 11 months there.

kenchan 03-13-2012 11:16 PM

yah, that's more like it. heck these days i just buy my ribeye and do pepper steak at home. :yum: much cheaper and usually better tasting. :icon17:

im signing-off. chat with you guys tomorrow!

Fire 03-13-2012 11:19 PM

sad the bugs are back is deatailer after a wash the best to try to scrub em off with?

Fire 03-13-2012 11:32 PM

Hi alcheng, 370. I've used detail spray and water. Wet with water and let soak then use detailer spray. There are also washes that are made for cleaning off bugs but be careful it is easy to get sratches. Never use those scrub sponges.

Fire 03-13-2012 11:36 PM

Unfortunately Kenman just left he is the detail king and would have all kinds of cleaning recommendations.

It helps if you can need a thick coat of wax up front. Bugs will wipe right off then!

alcheng 03-13-2012 11:38 PM

I might drive it to coin wash and spray them off and go home finish it with wax. ok idea?

That's what I do when it's dirty like that.

Fire 03-13-2012 11:39 PM

You might want to look into a clear bra if you use it for a DD. The paint is soft and gets abused.
