back on topic.....................just dropped off the Z to have the original springs reinstalled.

It's something I reluctantly have to do, but I feel like I just shot Old Yellar.....

cool. i think you will be happier that way imho... or atleast the car will drive the way it was intended on stock dampers.

do you have spacers on your car right now? if so, i think it would look good around front ET32-35 (nismo wheels are 42?) and rear ET15-19 (nismo wheels are 24?).

Fire 03-13-2012 04:13 PM

WTH back on topic LOL Hey Gurney did you car start crying?

kenchan 03-13-2012 04:15 PM

gurney- oh yah, would definitely recommend re-alignment as well. :)

Fire 03-13-2012 04:16 PM

Def. on the realignment.

Fire 03-13-2012 04:18 PM

Backed out and pulled into my driveway today with no scraping. Usually those factory deflectors infront of the front wheels scrape.

kenchan 03-13-2012 04:20 PM

happy- forgot to mention about the PWJDM knob... i decided to keep it for now. felt good during the drive over the weekend. :) so no TWM biggy type-r knob.

Fire 03-13-2012 04:22 PM

Yu a$$ Kenman. Ya hurt my feelings. I think you need to send me a charboilcheeseburger with cheesy fries as an apology. Make it supersize.:ugh2:

Fire 03-13-2012 04:24 PM

Kenman why is it always about your knob? Get over it :nutswinger:

happytheman 03-13-2012 04:27 PM

The drive home proved successful for the thermo to come up to the proper temp!

The car has 15mm on front and 20mm on rear. I don't follow what you are recommending, sorry.

No, but I almost did when I looked back as I drove away! I really liked the stance of the car.

The dealer is doing that for me as part of the swap.

The sun is shining for the first time in a while here and I got a good look at the full extent of the damage to the nose - the paint is full of spider web cracks in four places. I've got a meeting set-up with State Farm early next week. For what it is going to cost to remove the clear bra, sand down and fix the bumper, I wonder if it wouldn't be cheaper to just start over with a new one. They only cost $550 new. That's for the insurance company to decide.

While I was waiting for my ride to pick me up, I looked at a new Nismo on the showroom floor. The bottom edge of the front spoiler has to be a good two inches higher than mine. The drop turned out to be a lot more than expected.

Look for a new avatar soon.

You know, I've grown pretty fond of mine as well and have decided to keep it around for a while too! :?

Fire 03-13-2012 04:30 PM

Mine read 61 degrees. Didn't see the temp anywhere that I passed to see how accurate it was.

yah, the nismo has taller front springs/stock combo vs base. tj confirmed this when he did the swap. :)

as for the spacers and offset, your car will look lifted with those spacers on. i think your front nismo wheels are ET42 so i would recommend a 10mm spacer up front and rear. the rear might be okay with 5mm spacer.

Thanks! I was thinking about changing spacers anyway. Once I get the car back, I'll be able to tell what I need. I was thinking about 10mm all around.

I guess that will involve changing the studs again since I got H&R DSR spacers. Can you change 5mm and still use the same studs?

kenchan 03-13-2012 04:45 PM

hi gurney- unfortunately probably no because the stock lugs are not deep enough. you'd need to run open lugs and i dont think there are any available for lugs with washers (for hubcentric design wheels).

best bet is to get the 10mm stud replacement spacers and run correct stud lenghts. :)

That's what I'm going to do. I'll wait until I get the car back to decide on the spacer size. It will be going back to the dealer to repair the front bumper nay way.

Thanks for the advice!

Today I drove to work, set off 100 car alarms in the parking garage and continued to conduct and exhaust symphony until I got home.

I think I need to do some reading, because I have no idea what you just said. It must have been some Asian dialect.

He is talking about wheel offsets ET32 means an offset of 32mm which is the distance between the center of the wheel to the mounting point
