Haha thanks bro i appreciate it and yeah it has been busy but now i have 2 days to sit around on my @$& and do nothing |
-12c these couple days, Z is still hibernating, lol.
Hopefully Wed will be warmer then I can have the HU install. Gonna make decision on the rims very soon, heheeee |
Lets see. Today I went to do a dyno day with the Z club and Mustang club here in El Paso. Unfortunately the dyno decided to stop working for us the car before I was supposed to go. Then this evening I went and watched Contraband with a group of us from the Z club. Came out afterwards with a shopping cart sitting against my front bumper. Once I got closer though I was able to see that it had fortunately not done any damage, it got caught by my Stillen splitter which left about a 3 or 4 inch gap between the car and the cart. So 370Z- 1 Shopping Carts- 0  and Contraband=

Picked Stella up from the dealer this morning.
I dropped her off before my trip to Dallas so they could keep her for the week. They refinished the insides of all four wheels and resprayed the driver side rocker panel that got scratched up (see my journal for the deets on the damage) and gave me a complimentary oil change with synthetic. People make mistakes. It's gonna happen. It's how someone handles the mistake or rectifying the situation that determines their character... and whether or not I continue to do business with them. Brenner Nissan gets the thumbs up from me. |

Had the day off so out the door into the sunny clear but cool weather in the Z!
Took off for a big furniture store to continue shopping for the new couch! After drove down the B28 to Reutlingen south of Stuttgart to visit a Nissan dealer there called Autohaus Wurst. Great team of folks there and they are also a GT-R dealer and have a great master tech. Issue I want to resolve is the stereo in my US model tunes FM in odd freq steps(.1, .3, .5 etc) In Europe FM is both even and odd so I cannot hear some of my favorite stations with the US stereo I have. Wurst tech plugged in a Juke stereo which worked quite well but the steering wheel controls will not synch up. So we scoured the parts system and the base stereo for Europe is identical to mine and will tune accordingly. The catch is the 800-euro price! Will have to think about that! Great to visit a super good dealer and be treated well. My dealer experience in Germany is so far ahead of most US episodes its not funny. Driving here in particular is fantastic as most imagine. Nurburgring, driving at serious speed on the Autobahn, great country and mountain roads etc. Germany is a car-person heaven let me tell you. Fuel is expensive but you wouldnt know it by the power you see each day. On that note - I was the only Z on the road wherever I was! :) The car continues to get amazing attention as there just arent many around. Its fun! Took some pics of the dealer and the car. One in particular is the Bosch garage that runs over the top of Autobahn 8 going past the airport just East of Stuttgart going towards Munich. It spans over the entire freeway. Great structure and really cooly lit up at night. The neat Z cabrio pic is the car at the dealer near the GT-R that had its body wrapped in matte dark grey and burgundy top. Nice combo! Got home and hit my local Aral station for a nice high-tech wash and fuel up with the Aral 102 Super unleaded fuel. As the sign say's 'ALLES SUPER" :) Quick vacuum and dry and general detail. Put the machine away! Ready for another great Z day tomorrow! Enjoy the pics! :hello: :driving: |

Filed an insurance claim for a door ding today. Did I make a mistake? Will my premium go up because of this? How much do you guys estimate the fix will be? (dent on curved part of driver-side door + scratches horizontally probably can be polished?)

Rin is at work with me today :)

ive not seen the crease, but probably about 200-250 retail for the PDR and 100 for the polish. be careful though cause most body shops will want to take money from you and will charge for a repaired door + paint $450+...with poor color matching paint... so take it to a PDR place first. then take it to a detailer to polish it out. |

As I was making sure she was cleaned up before plugging her in and wrapping her up for the winter, I noticed the rubber air deflector in front of the driver side wheel was pulled off of two of its three fasteners. No big deal; 3 minutes with a 10mm socket and it was back where it belonged. Then I found a few surface scratches on the car. There were matching marks on the top of the rear fenders, the shoulders, or hips on either side of the car. All signs point to running the car through an automatic car wash. Watcha gonna do? :shakes head: |

I asked once before, but I'm sure it got lost in the furious mix of the previous 10k+ posts, what's the deal with the Koni Yellows. Why is everyone like: :yum: ?
