Hudson Bay :bowrofl:

Oh, I've done speed bumps, no problem. But these "speed bumps" are huge, 3' wide, and who knows how tall... My plan of attack would need to be a full road blocking angle! I'll wait and take my wife down to the beach, that way if I get stuck I have someone to push the car. :rofl2:

No problem. I really hope it's as simple as that. But, they shouldn't have had to take that out to replace the tranny.

Check out GaleForce's DIY for the short shifter install. Might give you a better idea on what to do. Good luck!

Alchemy 04-02-2012 06:17 PM

Ok, just ripped all that apart and put it back together. Im no expert in the trans dept as I said but all looked well. The groove that it is getting stuck in is before it hits the block off plate. Can the block off plate be shitfted???

axio 04-02-2012 06:24 PM

Alchemy, try loosening the 3 or 4 bolts that hold the block off plate. Move the shifter into 5th gear, and then slide the block off plate up against the knob on the shifter itself. Then go ahead and tighten down the block off the plate. Shift it around and see if this helps or fixes your problem. If it does, I ended up putting on some extra grease where the knob on the shifter hits the block off plate so just it doesn't squeek or anything (it did on my TMW short shifter kit so I had to rip it apart again just to add grease to it). I hope that is what's wrong...

Yeah, I should have tried to adjust it while I had it apart. Had a long day at work and didnt even wanna go work on it to begin with. Ill have to check it out again tomorrow.

Yep, exactly this ^^

Your shifter should just barely touch the lock-out plate. There should be some play in it for adjustment.

Like Axio said, my Short Shifter DIY has some photos of this.

Thanks Axio

Thanks for all the love guys, I'll find some time this week to go get an estimate for the paint job...I think I'm just more irritated at the fact that people just don't give a crap in my neighborhood. I stood there scratching my head this morning as to how in the hell someone could have managed to do that based on where my car was parked...I'm still scratching my head. I actually MOVED my car yesterday to supposedly park it in a "safer" spot lol. Ahh, gotta love the ironical crap in life.

Rest of my day was better though :) except that I slammed my thumb in a filing cabinet and started bleeding everywhere :roflpuke2:

I didn't go to the beach though, I'm not sure I would make it safely over the speed bumps now with the swift springs. I'll test it out another time.

Mr.GaleForce, this pic brings back memory of my high school years…… :icon17:

I always 'stole' the bike from my friend and ride along the lake…

You making me thinking about visiting Port Hope this summer!! :driving:

Let me know when you're planning to travel this way. We can do a cruise, and I'll fire up the BBQ for us after.

Good morning guys! Gonna make an attempt to go to work today, even tho all my senses are telling me to go back to bed. :)

It's a bit foggy out this am, so ima have to be e exceptionally careful out there with the other morons that they keep giving licenses to.

Have a great day all, and I'll check in when I can.

Good Morning All! :hello:

I'm feeling a little foggy too, but it's because I was on a teleconference until 10:00 pm last night. 6:00 am to 10:00 pm work days suck.

Had a great time this weekend with the Z. I had to miss the Z Club cruise to Texas World Speedway - sorry Fire no pace car action this time - but i did get to attend another Cars and Coffee event in the Woodlands north of Houston. The setting was beautiful and it was more more low-key than the Houston Coffee and Cars events. There was also a special car there - see photos below.

Afterwards, took a short cruise in the country on the way home. Turned out to be a great weekend. We have the Nismo Fiesta in San Antonio in two weeks, and that looks to be a great event.

Happy - the car is confirmed for the shop work the week of April 16, so expect something in the mail sometime the following week.

Have a great day all. :tiphat:

happytheman 04-03-2012 06:57 AM

Is that an AMC Gremlin?! HAHA, I haven't seen one of those since I was a kid! My aunt had one! It's floorboards we're so rusted out that I could see the passing road beneath! :rofl2:

Glad to see you had a great time this weekend Mr. Gurney, and thanks again for being the cool guy that you are!

Mecinoid 04-03-2012 07:32 AM

Hope everyone has a great day!

It looks like sun, sun, and more sun for a while in Kali. I can dig it. Maybe I'll take a drive to the beach this week. I hope it gets into the 70's.
That would make it very nice at the beach.

Wow, last week storms .... and now this beautiful weather. Mother Nature sure is fickle this year.

onzedge 04-03-2012 08:08 AM

Good morning everyone. :tiphat:

GaleForce 04-03-2012 08:10 AM

Good morning Happy. Don't work to hard. lol

Good morning Mr.alcheng, Mr.onzedge, Mr.kenchan, Mr.Fire, Mr.Gurney, and all the other misters.

TheGreatOne 04-03-2012 08:18 AM

Morning all

So tired, after my regular job I've been going to help my uncle during Tax season since his own kids won't, I figure extra cash for mods/baby formula lol

It also means I get to drive a little more each day so win-win :)

Was thinking of finally tackling my side skirt install today but I'm getting home around 9pm...might leave it to the weekend

Fire 04-03-2012 08:40 AM

Hi guys just checking in after a 14 hour work night :shakes head: Hope all you guys with issues get them worked out. Take care guys, I'll be back on Wed.:tiphat:

ZMan8 04-03-2012 09:21 AM

Good morning everyone :)

TerribleONE 04-03-2012 09:26 AM

mornin!! :hello: somebody post up some sick mod pictures today so I can live vicariously through others! :rofl2:

ZMan8 04-03-2012 09:29 AM

So last night I was removing my stock exhaust and that sucker is on pretty good. I got the muffler removed but the rest of the bolts are pretty much stuck. One bolt is close to stripping. I soaked the bolts/threads with liquid wrench for 20 hours and we'll see if it helps. Might have to drill a few out.
